Question about Acer Aspire 5920-6727 Notebook

Acer 5920G Vista home premium SP1 losing net connection

Started recently to lose wifi connection regularly (up to every 2 minutes). reconnects automatically after a minute or so.
drivers checked and seem up to date.
other laptops on same network don't lose the connection so should not be a router problem...
All ideas most welcome.
Thanks!

Well, it did that a few months back for a day or two then went back to completely normal.

It started doing it again last week but I noticed that it was only as I was downloading stuff through bitlord (coincidence maybe), it's now doing it even as bitlord is not running.

It actually did not do it for an hour after i posted this question but since i've started writing this it has lost and regained the connection 5 times...

My Acer 5920 too loses the wifi connection after some hours. I have to restart to have my connection back. I updated the Intel wifi driver but still have the same problem.

Best suggestion would be to back up all files and restore your computer using acer e-recovery manager. That will restore your pc to factory default. If that doesn't work then you should contact acer who generally are happy to help.

Method 1:
Step 1: Start your computer in safe mode with networking and check the functionality.
Starts Windows in safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.
Advanced startup options (including safe mode)

If it works fine in safe mode with networking, perform clean boot to find the root cause.
Step 2: If it works fine in safe mode with networking, perform clean boot to find the root cause.
To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

NOTE: After you check the functionality in clean boot configure Windows to use Normal startup using the step 7 suggested in the link mentioned above.
Note: Do Not disable wireless services, if any.

Acer d225e loses wifi connection

allright, most of computer that connected to a wireless network obtain an IP address from the server.so,it looks like your computer cannot obtain the IP address from the server, perhaps your DHCP client service is stopped or disabled,in order to fix the problem, you will need to check the DHCP client service and make sure that it's run properly. Click Start->Run->type "services.msc" and a window that shows all service on your computer will appear. look for DHCP Client service and see if it's disabled or not running. if it's disabled, right click on it and select properties.on the Startup Type, select Automatic.and right click on the DHCP service and select Start. if it's already started or it's not fixed the problem (and i think it would),it might be that your connection get much inteferences that 'damage' the signal (because there are too many users that also uses wireless on the area),you can fix it by changing the channel with this software. http://www.metageek.net/products/insside... try to use channel 1 or 6 or 11. there are many other reasons such like insufficient Wi-Fi network range and power (it's the signal, take your laptop closer to the access point to get stronger signal),your Network driver need to be upgraded,or Overloading (overheating) on the Wireless device. Just ask me another question if you need something,i will answer it untill the problem is fixed
