Hi, the error is because the cd changer is not turning, something block it! or ther is an audio cd inside that blocks the normal function or change the "rubber belt" that the motor drives for the disc system changer!, an other problem could be that is not reading the audio cd's.
If you do chek this shure you solve this problem
Lets give it a try. The purchasedate will be 1991 (HI).
I'll suppose you allready cleaned the laserunit.
You can try to clean the laserslides, sometimes they are sticky and dry. Then the laser is not fast and precise enough to read the index of your CD.
Clean them with some alcohol on cottontips.
When they are really clean, use just a little teflonoil to make sure the laserunit slides very smoothly.
What probably happened is that some CDs fell off their tracks and are blocking the main wheelhouse from turning. To solve this you will need a philips head screw driver. First unplug the machine. You will need to remove the top of the unit (which slides off towards to the back) after removing the 9 screws (2 top, 4 side, and 3 top back). Once you slide off the cover, you will expose the wheelhouse and you should see the CDs that fell off. Simply take the cds out. Once you have taken out all the CD that came off the tracks, slide the cover back on and screw in the 9 screws. The CD player should work again. This worked for me and hopefully will work for anyone encountering this error.
There are several reasons for this. The most common is a dusty laser lens.Try using a good quality CD lens cleaner.Follow the instructions. It should solve your problem.
