I own a 1999 Toyota 4Runner 4 cylinder, SR5. I had my drive shaft replaced and the battery went dead while my truck was in the shop. The repair man put my battery on a charger and i was able to start my truck for a couple days with no problems. I first noticed a problem when my truck woud hesitate to start before the engine would turn over. Then, a couple days after that happening my battery was completely dead. I had to get a jump start by using (jumper cables) and i drove for over 2 hours without turning the truck off. I got home and i checked the water level in my battery and it was almost comletely dry. I filled it with water and walked away from it. So i woke up this morning and my truck had absolutely NO POWER. I tried to jump it again and i got no power, I even tried to charge the battery with a charger and it would not charge. So I put another battery in from another car and my head lights came on and stayed on as long as the battery terminals were connected but no power any where else. my gauges didnt work and the windows or locks didnt work. i bought new battery and put it in and now i cant get power to go through the fuse box. any solutions?

Please visually check your battery. If top of the battery is surrounded with blackish material, or it is used for more than two years, probably it is dead. If not, then get the specific gravity of the battery be checked. It is supposed to be in between 1.280 - 1.320 at the temperature of 40 degree Celsius. If the specific gravity is found low it needs to be re-charged for nineteen to twenty two hours at the rate of slow charging.

Hi Mike
Try lightly tapping the starter with a spanner and at the same time turning the key to start, if it starts you need the starter overhauled.

Look for a lose connection at the crank shaft sensor. This is a signal needed for obtaining tachometer as well as turning on the fuel pump.

Need Directions to Replace clutch in a1993 5spd.toyota 4runnerV6

start off bt taking off your shifter, then disconnect the wires, cables, and the 4x4 linkage, the drop out both drive shafts, support the tranny and transfer case then remove the tranny mount. take out the bolts on the bell housing that go into the motor the pull out the slave cylinder, and the last thing to remove is the cross member that holds up your tranny. after that slide the tranny back about 6 inches tor until it's free from the block and lower it down. after you get it on the ground pull of out clutch fork that is in the bell housing of your tranny, pull the bearing off the shaft that is in the bell housing as well. and last but not least take off the clutch plate ans the clutch disk that is on the fly wheel on your block. and i cant stress this enough be careful when you pull the tranny out and make sure it will not fall on you. so please do it carefully. And take your time.
