Question about Computers & Internet
I have had and Acer Extensa 4420 for about 6 or 7 months. During that time it's worked just fine. As a broke college kid, I can't afford my own internet, so I've been borrowing wireless from a few different sources around my apartment complex (with permission, for those of you who want to kill me now). Up until a couple days ago it had worked fine, but I tried to install a wireless receiver to try to boost my signal, and then everything went to hell. Now it will only connect to one AP (unfortunately the weakest one), the acer utility keeps telling me when I try to connect to any of the other, that there is a problem with my LAN (this computer has never been connected to wired internet). For a few days, the internet would connect and I could use external clients of online games (PokerStars, etc.) but the browser would not load. I've run system restore back to the oldest restore point, about a week before it freaked out on me, and the internet works, but the rest of the problems still exist. Any suggestions?
