It seems to be either part of a Virus, or a system bug, Make sure you have an up-to-date Antivirus, if you do, it might also be several component isues, check the device manager to see if any of your components have any errors. Or the best resolution to your problem would be to get the restore CD that comes with the PC and restore it back to its original manufacturer's defaults, if you don't have it you may also find it through hp.com's support site.

How do I load a dvd on Emachines dvd player? How do I "activate" it. Neither a cd with music or a dvd with a n owner's manual for a receiver will play.

If you know the manufacturer of you dvd player, you need to go online and down load the driver. Windows 7 should find it for you, but if your are still running Windows XP you will have to find it online.

Tip

Monitor is Black, Computer won't boot, computer screen is black.

If you have power and you hear your computer running but screen is black, your cables are connected and screen power button is on, No dots, dashes, words at all, usually that indicates the graphics card or ram is blown. Much more rarely a bad CD/DVD drive defect can block motherboard monitor drive.<br />Usually there is a used computer parts dealer in major cities and fault confirmation can cost under $10.00 if you can switch graphics cards yourself. Take your card in with you for slot style matchup. Nearly all computers can handle a card switch without data loss. Labor and time saving to try a card with Windows drivers resident, buy a universal or common brand.

Where to look to put a disc in my all in one dell

Many new computers do not come with a CD/DVD drive. This may be the case with your All-In-One Dell. Check your owners manual to see if a CD/DVD drive is included. You can also look on the left or right sides of the screen/monitor to see if there is a CD/DVD slot.

If you find that you do not have a CD/DVD drive, an external one can be purchase for $50-100 from numerous places.

Shivering screen

Shaking or trembling of a computer screen is often caused by interference from another device that is within a couple feet.
It can also be caused by another monitor close by.
If the removal of these objects does not stop the trembling, the monitor may have built up magnetism and need to be degaussed.
Find the menu button for your monitor.
This is usually on the front of the monitor.
It is sometimes on the side of the monitor.
Push the menu button. Scroll down until you find the screen option.
Select "Screen."
Scroll down to the degauss option.
Select "Degauss."
Select "OK."
The screen will make a tuning sound, as if you hit a guitar string.
The screen will shake and vibrate.
The shaking should now be gone.
If it is not, it will need to be looked at by a professional.

Power failure, command display (no bootable cd)

It seems that your first boot was on cd or dvd, or may be your hard drive did not detect, to check both of them go to BIOS set up by pressing F2 or Delete on your keyboard to enter set up. When you are in set up mode go to Boot menu (if you can not see boot menu go to advance). In a boot menu select HDD as a first boot and Cd or DVD as a second boot, if you can not find your HDD it means that your HDD did not detect, and you need to replace it with a new one.
Hope it gives you a solution

Hi! I need help with my computer. I use a seagate ST380811AS hard disk in my desktop computer. The problem now, is that everytime I start my computer "A non system disk" appears on the monitor or...

1 Remove any floppy disks or bootable CDs, DVDs, USB flash drives or other bootable media from the computer. Attempt to restart the computer again. Proceed if you continue to receive the error.
2 Restart the computer again. Press the key required to enter your BIOS setup. (The monitor usually displays a "Press [key] to access BIOS" right after restarting your computer. Press the key shown on your screen.)
3 Navigate to the "Boot Options" or "Advanced" menu by using the arrow keys. (The precise menu terms will vary according to your computer and BIOS type.)
4 Select the hard disk that contains your operating system (usually C:) as your primary boot device. Select your CD/DVD drive, your floppy drive or another hard disk as your secondary boot device.
5 Save and exit the BIOS. Proceed with the next step if you see the "Non-system disk error" message again.
6 Restart the computer. Return to the BIOS' "Boot Options" screen by following the steps above, then set the "CD/DVD drive" as the primary boot device and the hard disk as the secondary boot device. Save and exit the BIOS.
7 Insert your Windows installation disc. Restart the computer. Press any key to boot from disc. Follow the on-screen prompts to reinstall Windows.
8 Replace your hard disk drive if you cannot install Windows.

Lenovo 3000 n200 0769AMU press power on switch green light on after about 1 sec screen still black no HD light fan running

Welcome to Fixya

Try to drain the electrostatic charge of the motherboard that usually cause this issue. I wrote a tip on how to do the power drain. Try to plug in external monitor on the VGA port and see if you are getting display using external monitor. If you are getting display using external monitor then the problem would be the laptop LCD. If you are getting the same black screen using external monitor then the problem is already the motherboard.

Thank you for using Fixya!
