    The other option is to delete the program manually by finding all the files and folders that contain this program. or try to open the folder in the start menu and see if you can uninstall from there

If that file really isn't there (you can have a look), you can do the above suggestion.. manually remove it. (which won't really remove ALL of it).

I find the laziest way is to reinstall the same version again, then immediately uninstall it. The reinstall puts back files that the uninstaller needs to get rid of it. Stupid? perhaps. Works? sure does! =-]

Dvd driver shows yellow excclamation mark error code 41computer novice any simple suggestions would be appreciated

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Because of this error, the drive did not show up in My Computer and the customer was unable to burn CDs or read any CDs.

I uninstalled the drive from Device Manager, rebooted the computer, and the problem remained, so obviously it appeared to be a registry issue that I would have to solve. If you are receiving this Code 39 error and your CD or DVD drive is missing and has a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, I hope this information is useful.

To solve this Code 39 error, follow these instructions:

NOTE: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.

1) Close all open programs

2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter

3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
* SYSTEM
* CurrentControlSet
* Control
* Class
* {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

* UpperFilters
* LowerFilters
* UpperFilters.bak
* LowerFilters.bak

5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor

7) Reboot
your computer

8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone

Pp

Generic problem for all Memorex DVD Players

I assume you are running windows. Windows installs external devices automatically. You need to reset your USB devices. You need to uninstall all your usb devices. Go to computer manager/device manager and select all USB devices and unistall them. Go to the start menu, click on run type compmgmt.msc. Find all your USB devices on the right side. Follow the instructions for each device to uninstall them by double clicking and then select uninstall. once you uninstall, click on the icon to scan for hardware changes located on the sub menu. Your operating system should recognize new hardware or reboot and the operating system should install them automatically again.Do not connect the device until you are logged on completely, connect it and the operating system should recognize the new hardware and install it automatically. Try this, I hope it helps.

I have installed sql-server management studio at Win-XP professional.. but it is while run this it is looking for LOCAL SERVER... but it is unable to find any local server at my system.... pls solve my...

First of all you need to be sure that when you installed sql server you also checked Database server. I assume you have.

Then you need to check if SQL is running.

You have to go to start and type services.msc in the search field.

then you have a list of services. go down to sql server and check if its running.

Now go to sql management studio and connect to your local server.

You also might have a instance name. like local server\sql express or an other name.

I can not install OfficeSuite. I have Windows Vista home Premium. I had downloaded updates all afternoon and it still shows error 1719 Window installer not correctly installed. Help!

Download:Windows Vista Service Pack 1

I tried personally in WIN-XP worked same applies to Vista.

Error Message:
Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. You may be running in safe mode or Windows Installer may not be correctly installed. Translation:
This message might appear when you’re trying to add or remove a program that installs via a Windows Installer MSI (Microsoft Software Installation) package file. The Windows Installer Service is the standard method for installing and uninstalling software on Windows XP. It keeps track of all of the components that need to be installed for a particular program to run and ensures that any files that are shared by programs are not removed when one of those programs is uninstalled. The Error 1719 is an indication that some Windows Installer Service files are missing or have become damaged. Solution:
The first thing to try is re-registering Windows Installer in the Windows registry. Make sure that no other programs are running and then click Start, Run, type msiexec /unregister in the Open field, and click OK. Next, click Start, Run, type misexec /regserver in the Open field, and click OK. Restart your computer and try installing or uninstalling again.

If you’re still getting the error message, the next step is to try reinstalling the Windows Installer files. In order to do this, you’ll first need to rename the existing files.

First, click Start, Run, and type msiexec /unregister in the Open field, and click OK.

In My Computer, click Search and locate the following three files: msi.dll, msiexec.exe, and msihnd.dll. They are hidden files so you’ll need to select Search Hidden Files And Folders under More Advanced Options. When you’ve found the files, rename them, by removing the .dll and .exe extensions and replacing them with an .old extension(for example msi.dll becomes msi.old).

Once you’ve renamed the files, WinXP will automatically replace them with a new copy from the dllcache (a hidden folder where copies of important system files are kept in case you mistakenly delete or rename critical system files). Restart your computer and try to install or uninstall the program again.

Finally, if neither of the above processes corrects the problem, boot into Safe Mode, and go through the above steps again, first re-registering and then reinstalling.
