Think something may have gotten unhooked when you put everything bacK together? Check out all connections and ribbons between boards for proper contact.

if still the sound is working but with out any picture the cause would be a screen back light failure or malfunction in the t-con board. if the totally black screen it was a failure in the back light, you will need to remove the back cover to access this part. it was located at the upper and lower portion of the panel display covered with metal if the display is only a white screen you can see it in dark room, then the cause will be a failure in the t-con board. the t-con board was mounted underneath covered with metal shield.before you come up with trouble shooting the t-con board tried first with re seat the connectors which have loose contact.hope this can help good luck.

I think that there is only a loosed or cold solder in the t-con board or some bulge up or leaky capacitor in the power supply. Try to remove the back cover of your unit then observe carefully if there is a bad capacitor in the power supply, if you see this bulge up or leaky capacitor try to replace it but be sure to observe the polarity, because this bad capacitor will cause your unit to malfunction this bad capacitor is producing a low and unfiltered dc output voltage. Be sure to unplug the unit before removing the back cover. Feel free to send feed back good day and best regards.

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of bad inverter board or T-con board....

Please do this procedure to determine the problem:

  1. Open the back cover.
  2. Check the input voltage of inverter board.It should have 24vdc
  3. If you don't have 24vdc the problem is on the power supply...Check the possible open resistors that pass through the 24vdc line..
  4. If you have 24vdc and your TV is no back-light...The problem could be on the inverter board..Please replace it to fix your problem..
  5. If you have back-light but no picture on the screen the T-con board is faulty..T-con board is the responsible for processing of video comes from the main board..Please try to replace it if this symptoms appear..Have back-light but no picture or image on the screen.

I hope this solution will be helpful..
If you have any clarification or more query please feel free to ask..Just add a comment to post your query..

Thanks for consulting fixya..

LVDS cable from the T-CON
This seems like a problem with the T-CON board or it's connections. This is the low cost method to try.
If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repaired/replaced by the seller. If not then;
This sounds like the T-CON board or the LVDS cable connection is bad. Turning on and off the set will cause the connection to heat and cool and not make good contact.
IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(board replacing ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.

>Unplug the set and disconnect any cables.
>Lay on a flat surface covered with a cloth.

>Remove the back cover.
>The board is located near the middle of the set underneath metal shielding.
> Re-seat the cable by disconnecting and re-connecting the flat cable(s) connected to this board. See if the picture corrects.
You can try this several times.

If this does not correct the problem you may have to replace the T-CON board.
>Replace the shield and back cover.

You can search for replacement boards from places like, ebay and other sites.

The board will look something like this;

I have a blank line running vertical down my screen about 5" wide it is over the main menu I tried other inputs resetting. what is the problem and can it be fixed

This sounds like a problem with the T-CON board. This is the LCD controller board for displaying images on the screen.
Some times the contacts on the connectors do not make good contacts for whatever reason.

IF you know how to work on electronics or have a friend with knowledge/skill you may be able to fix it.

>UNPLUG the set and all attached cables.
>Lay the set face down on a cloth covered surface.
> Remove the back cover.
> Remove the shield over the T-CON board.
> Disconnect AND reconnect the cables to the T-CON board. Be careful here. The connectors will have a clip which must be released to remove the cable. Hopefully this will clean the contacts.
If it's not fixed, try it again.
If the problem is not solved you can try replacing the T-CON board. Make sure the part numbers are the same.

>Replace the shield over the T-CON board.
>Replace the back cover.
>Try the set.

You can search for T-CON board from;

The board will look something like;

I have an vizio 32"

This looks like the cables connected to the T-CON board may have worked loose.
The T-CON or timing controller, is what sends the video signal to the LCD (sometimes called LCD controller). The cable connectors on this board have very small contacts. Sometime some of them can become loose because of heat, contamination, shaking etc.
IF you know how to work on electronics or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can repair it.

> Disconnect all cables/cords on the back of the set.
>Lay the set face down on cloth covered flat surface.
>Remove the back of the set.
>Remove the metal shield covering the T-CON board. This board generally located in the center near the top.
>You can wiggle the T-CON cables around (for better contacts) to try and get the streaks to go away.
> Set tv upright so it is stable.
> Reconnect the signal source and power cord. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ON BACK OF SET!
> Use the remote to turn on the set. IF the streaks are gone, then turn set off
and UNPLUG THE SET and remove the input signal cable.
>Lay the set face down on cloth covered flat surface.
> Replace the shield over the T-CON board.
> Replace the back cover.

Resume operation.

IF moving the cable does not improve the signal you can disconnect/reconnect the cables and see what the picture looks like. Be careful not to damage the connectors. They may have clip that must be released first before removing.

IF disconnect/reconnect the cables does not work you can purchase another T-CON board and install it. The boards are relatively inexpensive.

I think the board will look something like this;
