I have a Acer Aspire 3620, the system tells me it can't see or find the cd/dvd rom drive, the software is installed but it can't find the hardware, it's as if it's not even there

The drive needs to be reformatted and ready to start over.
When that has been done, you should be able to boot from the CD with the operating system on it automatically. The startup code is on the CD and tends to do everything for you.
My cd/dvd rom dont work coz the drive has change to another one.I think take windows xp/vista/7/8 with an usb and inslat it. When windows finished installing try to format it because the dvd and cd rom are fixed . Thnx
sounds like a hardware problem....if u know how to assemble the laptop.it will be easy for u to fix that problem....all that things are connected to the mainboard..re insert all the cables what is loosen...regarding the headphone jack,if you have an extra jack you can replace that by resolder.
flash the bios to the latest version (bios flash update available on the computer manufacturer's website). if this is a bios glitch, flashing the bios will solve the problem.
