Olympus digital camera problem!

Hiya I have an olympus x-820, It has suddenly stopped working, The lens goes in and out about 3 times and makes a buzzing sound then goes back in again and the camera turns off. Occasionally the screen will come on and I can take a picture and view my pictures but the picture is very blurry and you can't make anything out. I'd rather not spend loads on repair fees or a new camera if I can help it because Im saving up to go on a gap year, so any expenses saved is a bonus! Thanks for your help!
