Got to Desktop,
Right-Click,
Select Propertise
You will find Desktop Icon Settings, you can select My Computer Icon From there. And then get out by pressing OK.
Now, you will see my computer Icon on Desktop, Right-Click on it, go to properties. You can see Windows Service Pack Version if it is installed.
Service Pack don't show up anywhere else.

RES.SIR, PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO ADD(INSTALL) THE MISSING FILES OF OPERATING SYSTEM TO RUN WINDOWS PROPERLY,WITHOUT FORMATTING CONCERN DRIVE.PLS PROVIDE THE PROPER PROCEDER. THANK YOU.

Hi

Use the OPERATING SYSTEM CD/DVD to run the REPAIR MODE.

REPAIRING THE OPERATING SYSTEM just load or install corrupted or missing files from your operating system thus will not delete any of your files from your computer.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

Regards and thank you for using Fixya !

I attempted to install service pack 2 five years ago and my system crashed so had to reload from cd. Since then I have ignored windows update. However I now want to install a expansion portable drive but...

Yes, some Portable Drive requires to Service Pack 2 installed in the Computer to detect it automatically.

Install the Service Pack 2 in the Computer to resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

DVD r/w driver for XP Pro Service pack 3

It could be the DVD and maybe there is no drive on Windows for this DVD. You might have to use third party software.
If they did not send the drive in to Microsoft for the DVD then it is not there.

Hi there
Is this problem with windows media player only or with rest players also.
You try to repair your media player using your XP installation CD and then install a good codec pack such as XP codec pack or K-Lite codec pack. These are available for free .
Hope this works for you.

Waiting for your thanks.
