Random-access memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a form of computer data storage. Today it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow the stored data to be accessed in any order (i.e., at random). The word random thus refers to the fact that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether or not it is related to the previous piece of data.[1]
This contrasts with storage mechanisms such as tapes, magnetic discs and optical discs, which rely on the physical movement of the recording medium or a reading head. In these devices, the movement takes longer than the data transfer, and the retrieval time varies depending on the physical location of the next item.
The word RAM is mostly associated with volatile types of memory (such as DRAM memory modules), where the information is lost after the power is switched off. However, many other types of memory are RAM as well (i.e., Random Access Memory), including most types of ROM and a kind of flash memory called NOR-Flash.

Computer help forum: How can I un-corrupt my Powerpoint 2007 file???

Hi,
Generally, once a file is corrupt, it's gone. So what I'd do, is just recreate the changes using one of your slightly older versions of the file. This time taking care to make sure you know exactly which one you're editing. Maybe saving a copy to a USB flash drive in addition to uploading a copy somewhere.
Use PowerPoint Repair Toolbox. The PowerPoint repair tool reads and analyzes the damaged files and exports data the restored data to Microsoft PowerPoint. For more:

Hi,

In case the PPT file is corrupted, you could not open it until you repair it using some software. Previously when I too faced the similar situation, I was able to repair corrupted PPT file using Repair PPT software. For more details you can visit the below mentioned website.

I have images in .ppt format that I would like to upload to facebook. Is this an acceptable format?

Hi,
.ppt is the extension for PowerPoint presentations, so it's not really an image format. This is why you willnot be able to upload it on Facebook.
However exporting the images from the .ppt is very easy! Just follow these simple steps and you will have your images exported and ready to be uploaded.
To export your PowerPoint slides to other file types (BMP, WMF, JPG, PNG, etc)
  • Open your presentation and choose Save As from the File menu.
  • In the Save As Type dropdown listbox, choose the file type you want to save.
  • Give the file a name and click OK.
  • PowerPoint asks whether you want to export just the current slide or your entire presentation. The question is worded a little oddly, so read the message carefully before clicking Yes or No.

When you save the entire presentation rather than a single slide, it uses the name you give it, makes a folder of that name, then creates the exported files in that folder, giving them names like Slide1.jpg, Slide2.jpg and so on.

Unable to open all attachments

If you have Office be sure PPT is installed (some MSOffice do NOT include PPT ) if you have PPT installed launch your powerpoint.
go to File/ open
select any powerpoint file.
If you do not find any .PPT file simply create a PPT presentation save and try to open.
You can then associate .PPT file with Powerpoint program in your Windows Explorer: (go to Tools/Folders option File types tab)

Considering you are on a work computer, you may find that all attachments are being blocked, as they are a security risk (many viruses are transmitted in this fashion).

Assuming you are using Outlook, it is quite easy to block the attachments at the mail server. I would check with my co-workers to see if their systems have the same issue, also.

Memory sticks

First you have to make sure there is enough room on the memory stick. Plug in the USB stick and open My Computer. You should see a "removable device" on E or F. That is your memory stick. Right click and select properties. It will tell you how much free spce there is. Now check the size of the powerpoint presentation the same way: Navigate to it and right-click.

If there is enough free space, you're almost there. Right-click on the powerpoint file (ending in .ppt) and select copy. Then go back to my computer and open the F:\Removable device icon. Once inside the device, right-click and hit paste. You should see the .ppt file being copied onto the memory stick. When it is finished, right-click the F device again and hit eject.
