Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Assuming that you have a legitimate copy of xp, try registering it at the microsoft. Look in your start menu for something that says "register windows." You can also go to the Microsoft Update website and let your computer download all the updates. One of those updates will be "microsoft genuine advantage". That should solve your problem, if not, go to Google and type in "microsoft genuine advantage diagnostic tool" and run that. If it comes up not genuine, click on "resolve" while connected to the internet. If that doesn't work, you may be a victim of software piracy. In other words, someone may have sold you a computer with a non genuine copy of windows. If that's the case, and you indeed are not the pirate, then you can call microsoft and plead your case. They will usually validate your copy if you convince them that you are the victim.
