Question about Whirlpool LER5636P Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Voltage difference I have a Whirlpool model LEB6300PW1 dryer and a LEB6300PW4 washer. I am currently residing in Kuwait, is it possible to use these machines here? The voltage is 220v 50hz. Is there a different electrical cord so that I may use the dryer? I have a 5,000watt step down transformer, is it possible to use the washer that is 120v? It is 10amps, type 111 Thanks

The voltage difference can be overcome. The problem will be the difference in frequency 50hz vs 60hz. The motors would have to be replaced with motors designed to operate at 50hz. The electronics would most likely need to be replace as well.

Best bet would be to contact whirlpool international to see if the offer a conversion kit/package.

I have a whirlpool dryer model #len 2000pgo and my wash doesnt get dry but dryer gets warm ...not hot like it should. what could be wrong???

Is this a gas or an electric dryer as the model number doesn't match any dryer and depending on gas or electric it can be very different things that are wrong. The gas dryer will probably need a new set of coils but I need to know what kind of dryer it is to narrow down the exact problem. Please let me know and I would be glad to help you fix this as fast as possible.

Drop in voltage when staring dryer

either you have a motor with a bad bearing and its drawing excessive current trying to start but can't come up to speed and is stating on the start windings which will draw excessive current and the motor will over heat and burn these windings sooner or later, otherwise a portion of the heating element could have sagged and is partially shorting out on the element case which is grounded and causing the excessive voltage drop

Looking for a manual/user guide to a Whirlpool Ultimate care II dryer , model #LGQ9858PW and washer, model # LSW9750PW. Any thoughts or suggestions? thanks

Hi, There are two slightly different models for your dryer there will be a '1' or a '0' after the PW, the manuals can be found ---> HERE <--- for the dryer.

There are 4 slight differences for the washing machine, there will be a '0' , '1' , '2' or '3' after the PW all the manuals can be found ---> HERE <--- for the washing machine.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these manuals, if you don't have it you can click the link near the bottom of the pages where the manuals are, or you can ---> Click Here <--- to get it and then install it so you are able to view the manuals afterwards.

Hope this helps. (: don't forget the thumbs ups if it did :)

Washers are more advanced and stylish than ever before. When you're buying a washer, look for features that make washing easier and more efficient, less costly, and kinder to fabrics. Thanks to advances in technology, it's all possible - and our washer buying guide shows you how.

Washer Types
Feature options, capacity, energy use and style are all factors to consider when deciding between a front- or top-loading washer.
oth top-loading and front-loading washing machines will do a good job of cleaning your clothes. The most significant differences between these types of washers are capacity, energy efficiency, water use, feature options, and style.

Top-loading machines

Traditional top-loading washing machines are available in a wide assortment of models, price ranges and styles. The most basic top-loading washers perform very well and are generally a good value for a no-frills, clean wash. Other top-loaders offer more cycle and temperature selections, spin speeds, and fabric care extras as they increase in price. Overall, top-loading washers are generally less expensive to purchase than front-loading machines, but are slightly more costly to run because they use more water and electricity.

Most top-loaders fill the tub with enough water to cover the clothing, then agitate them to get the clothing clean. Some manufacturers now offer high-efficiency top-loading washers using a number of different technologies. One such technology is the Whirlpool® Calypso® wash plate. Instead of agitating fabrics to get them clean, the wash plate moves them through a shower of concentrated detergent and water. The action is gentler on fabrics; it's designed to provide better cleaning with far less stress to garment fibers. And with the agitator out of the way, the washer has more room to clean bulky items such as comforters and rugs.

Standard capacity for a top-loading washing machine is 12 to 16 pounds per load. The Calypso wash plate model can hold up to 18 pounds of laundry (think the equivalent of 16 pairs of jeans).

Here is a link to some Whirlpool washers for you to look over.

Whrilpool washer/dryer stack the dryer doesn't get hot

You will find that the drier wont get hot because the timer is not forwarding onto the heating part of the cycle. Possibly if you click one click at a time, you will possibly get to the heating part of the cycle but its not safe as it wont go any further. Install a new timer and you will be happier I'm sure.

No heat

Check the heating element for continuity (unplugged); and if OK (though can be OK until main current goes through and then becomes dis-continuous--so not foolproof), then if safe access could check with VOM (or grossly fluorescent/glow type voltage detector), that 220 volts was present at the heating element. If no voltage to element, then likely in the control system/timer and a different story.
