Question about Whirlpool LER5636P Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Voltage difference I have a Whirlpool model LEB6300PW1 dryer and a LEB6300PW4 washer. I am currently residing in Kuwait, is it possible to use these machines here? The voltage is 220v 50hz. Is there a different electrical cord so that I may use the dryer? I have a 5,000watt step down transformer, is it possible to use the washer that is 120v? It is 10amps, type 111 Thanks

The voltage difference can be overcome. The problem will be the difference in frequency 50hz vs 60hz. The motors would have to be replaced with motors designed to operate at 50hz. The electronics would most likely need to be replace as well.

Best bet would be to contact whirlpool international to see if the offer a conversion kit/package.

Can I stack a new whirlpool washer model # WFW72HEDW with an old whirlpool dryer model # WED9270XW1? If yes, what stacking kit do I need to use?

You can stack just about any dryer on any washer, so long that the controls of the washer are on the the top of the washer has no penetrations and no control. In general, dryers are independent from the washer and are light weight.
So the conclusion: so long that the dryer does not interfere with operating the washer - YOU ARE A OK :-)

I have a stackable washer/dryer whirlpool model #WET3300SQ1. Heating element in dryer is not heating. We have replaced the heating element and it is still not working.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

No heat

Check the heating element for continuity (unplugged); and if OK (though can be OK until main current goes through and then becomes dis-continuous--so not foolproof), then if safe access could check with VOM (or grossly fluorescent/glow type voltage detector), that 220 volts was present at the heating element. If no voltage to element, then likely in the control system/timer and a different story.

LTE6234 Whirlpool Twin Thin Timer Broken?

Check for voltage at the water inlet valve with the timer dial pushed in or in an off position. If no voltage replace the water valve. If you do have voltage you'll have to trace the circuits back from the water valve to the line. One point of demarcation is the water level switch. Pull the violet colored wire and see if it still fills while off. If it does it's likely the timer's bad.
