Question about Kenmore 55612 / 55614 / 5561 / 655619 Side by Side Refrigerator
I have a Kenmore Coldspot 106 59567990. It is a side-by-side with ice and water dispensers in the door. I have had to turn the water off at the back of the refrigerator because otherwise water just drips out of the water dispenser. I have purchased part #4388152 which is a water-fitting assembly with tubing. Before I go to the trouble of taking off the freezer door and taking it apart to replace this, can you tell me if this is likely the problem?
check your water filter. water preasure is important in the operation of the water valves. if the filter is ok replace the valve. water filter should be changed at least once every year.

water valve is behind ref.on either the right side or left but you will see your water line going to ref.water valve. Most likely replace.

SOURCE: We have a Kenmore Coldspot
It is probably your defrost cycle causing this. Obviously if you shut the water line off then it is not coming from there so there is only 1 other place it could be. Every 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on you defrost timer the refrigerator will defrost itself.......the frost melts into water and drains into a pan under the fridge. If the drain is plugged then it will just run into the refrigerator. If you have a freezer on top model then just remove the back wall inside the freezer, it will be a few 1/4 inch screws....If you have an icemaker then remove that too, it will be held on with 3 screws. Just look behind that wall and you will probably see ice at the bottom.....defrost the ice and pour a cup or 2 of water into the drain to make sure it is unclogged. If it is still plugged up then you have to find the clog....either in the back of the fridge behind the lower cover or in the refrig compartment near the back of the roof.

these have to be in correctly to lock back in and allow the unit to function. Try removing the bin again and be sure there isn't any small pieces of ice trapped anywhere. Also make sure there aren't any broken pieces from the bin. Hope this helps. Good luck.
