Cannot boot Linux Enterprise 3 on DL360 G5

Hi,

I've installed Linux Enterprise 3 Update 6 on DL360 G5 series, Everything went ok on the installation and I choose LILO as the boot loader. But when I tried to reboot the Server I only got the 'L' word and not responding.
Is there someone can help me with these problem?

Thank you

It looks like you rebooted with the installation CD/DVD in the CD/DVD drive. Take the install disk out of the optical drive, and set the server to boot from a hard drive, preferably the hard drive with Linux installed on it. You can do it. I have faith in you.

Hi, I want to install an Ubuntu server edition on my HP proliant dl360 G3 series. This install is located on a USB-stick and I want to install it from there. How do I do this? Thanks in advance.

You firstly have to make your usb key bootable just google instructions on how to do that.
Set the boot order in the bios to boot from it and then transfer the image to the usb key and install from it.

I have an Ml 110 G5 Server, But i could not find the VGA driver for the Win Xp , kindly assist thanks Justin

Hi, I m really sorry to say that but you have a Server Product and its built to run Windows Server Series on it (or Linux / Novell Netware).
This is the list of compatible Server list
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Essential Business Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Foundation Edition Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Small Business Microsoft Windows Server 2008 W32 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64 Novell NetWare 6.5 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (AMD64/EM64T) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (x86) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server (x86) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server (x86-64) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (AMD64/EM64T) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (AMD64/EM64T) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (x86)
Here is the link for Drivers
Try to use the Driver for Windows 2003.
It has a Matrox VGA as I know. If you know which Matrox series you have, then Browse here for the Drives: Matrox Graphics Support. Make sure that you choose the Exact Driver software which suites the System.
Note: Not every product has the Driver Software for Windows XP.

Dl360 g5 not booting, fans running full speed

Confirm whether the RAM are plugged in properly. It could be the reason for the boot screen not moving beyond the BIOS boot up

How can i installed driver of sata hdd for linux red hat

if you are installing red hat 8 and higher there is no need to install extra driver because linux is the only operating system which will install everything including drivers, office suite, programming tools etc .... as far as my suggestion dnt install old versions of linux instead install new version ... there are many linux available
ex: fedora core 4,5,6 ,knoppix live cd linux ( which boots linux from cd no need install it) ,ubuntu, red hat, mandrake, suse ....
you can download it from net 4 free as linux is open source 4 all ...
be careful while installing linux especially during partitioning..... if u make a mistake you will lose all datas

Cannot install

you can add more ram to make the computer faster. or another easy solution would be to change the cd drive to a faster one, a dvd drive would be ideal.
