Did you install any new software/drivers? Do you have properly updated Anti Viru installed? Sometimes misbehaving drivers force windows to restart again and again.
(Presumming that you are using Windows)
Try to start the computer in "safe mode" by constantly pressing F8 while start up. Next screen will show the options available for starting the computer.
OPTION 1:Choose "safe mode" from the option. Please wait for a while it takes some time. Once there please use the "system restore" option when dialog box appears asking for you to choose the next action.
OPTION 2: you can follow a longer process if you want to know which driver is actually malfunctioning. Choose "continue with safe mode" and type "msconfig" (do not include quotes) a new window will apear, go to "start up" TAB and uncheck all the items shown there. And resart the system normally. Now, go to run again and type "msconfig" go to "start up" TAB and check one item from there and click "ok" and restart your system. Do this untill you find the malfunctioning Driver, once you get hold of the culprit (note down the name) and restart the system once again in "safe mode" and when you reach the "start up" TAB under MSCONFIG, uncheck the specific driver and restart. Your System should work fine.
If this does not solve your issue, you will need the Windows installation disc to repair you windows instalation.
