I agree with king. It sounds like you fried the motor. I think that might be the only thing you have to replace outside of your pride for using a completely different charger. While the connector might be the same, the output may have been totally different and allowed to much power to flow to the console.

Well i think you may need to replace the cd part of your console the hole part cause when you put the other charger to it you may have blown the motor for the laser

My sp will not charge, I am not sure if it is the battery or something else

Game Boy Advance SP - Charging Light Won't Display If the orange-colored charge light on your Game Boy Advance SP is no longer coming on when the A/C Adapter is connected to your system, please use the following troubleshooting steps.
    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Make Sure the Game Boy Advance SP Isn't Already Fully Charged
If the battery is already fully charged, the light will not display when the system is plugged into the AC Adapter. Play a game without using the AC Adapter for at least 10-15 minutes, then plug the AC Adapter in, to see if the light comes on. If it does come on, the battery was fully charged. If the light still does not come on, see Step 2.

    2. Make Sure the Outlet You Are Using Works
Plugging another electrical device into the outlet is a good way to check if the outlet works, or that the outlet you are using is not controlled by a nearby light switch. You may also want to try a different outlet.

    3. Try a Different Licensed AC Adapter
If the charging light doesn't display, try a different AC Adapter, if possible, to determine if perhaps the problem is with the adapter.

      • If a different AC Adapter works, you will need to get a replacement AC Adapter from our Online Store, or by calling our Consumer Service Department at 1-800-255-3700.
      • If a different AC Adapter doesn't work, or if a replacement AC Adapter is not available and the lights will not display, we recommend having your Game Boy Advance SP repaired. Check out our convenient repair options.

Note: Please be sure to include both the Game Boy Advance SP and the AC Adapter with any repair

The on/off switch won't turn on. i have power on (red light) switch clicks but no green light. i have taken lid off and white button seams on work but still no green light. i have even held down little...

This is one of three things. Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine which, unless you start replacing parts.

1. Bad switch. The switch doesn't usually go bad by itself, has the PS2 been dropped? Bumped? Anyone push the switch too hard? It's held in by solder on all 4 corners. If the solder becomes dislodged, the switch can fail.

2. Bad cable. This is rare unless someone opened the PS2 and removed/installed the cable a few times and frayed the internal wires.

3. Bad motherboard. Sometimes a power problem can develop, or the motherboard can short out. It's pretty rare, but I have seen it happen.

4. Bad AC adapter. Recent power surge? It's possible that the AC adapter is delivering enough voltage to power the standby light, but not enough to power the actual system on. You can easily check this by plugged your PS2 up on someone else's AC adapter or taking your AC adapter to someone else's PS2.

Battery is fully charged but it still wont power up no lights when plugged in to charge

Hook up only the ac adapter to the DS to see if it turns on. If it does then we know the ac adapter works. We know the battery got fully charged but the system isn't turning on with the battery that is fully charged up.

I would say your battery is defective but you won't really know until you fully charge up a known good working battery and test it out.

Gameboy not charging

Sounds like the cells inside of the battery are weak and can't hold the charge. If possible, try a known good working battery and then charge it up. If the charge holds and you can run the battery off of it for a while then you know the original battery is bad.

If you try a known good battery and the charge still doesn't hold then it could be the main board inside of the GBA is bad and you would need to get another system unless the one you have happens to still be under warranty.

You can also try a know good ac adapter at that point as well to make sure your adapter isnt flaky but if you can turn on your gba with just the adapter hooked up then more then likely the adapter is good.

Nintendo dslite wont turn on.tried charging it wit 3 different charges and it still wont charge

Ensure that you are properly recharging the battery.

1. Insert the small end of the adapter into the external extension connector (labeled "5.2V=IN") on the back of the Nintendo DS Lite, just next to the SLOT 1 Game Card opening.

2. Swing the prongs on the AC adapter until they lock into place, then insert it into a standard (120 volt) outlet.

The plug should be mounted vertically or on a floor outlet (such as a power strip).

3. Once the adapter is properly inserted, the unit will begin to charge (the orange charging light will display).

4. Once the DS Lite is fully charged, the orange charge light will go off.

Check the AC Adapter for damage (such as bent prongs or split wires). If you see damage to the AC Adapter, purchase a replacement from Nintendos Online Store.

Try plugging the AC Adapter into another wall outlet. Its possible the outlet is not working properly and has not been charging the Nintendo DS Lite.

If you are unable to get power to your Nintendo DS Lite, despite trying to properly recharge the unit, then your system will need to be repaired.

Nintendo offers convenient repairs, fast turnaround times and, for all systems repaired, a new one-year manufacturer's warranty.
