It seems to me that the camera is overexposing the images.
First make sure that the 'ISO' is set to a lower value such as 100 or 200. Also ensure that the Exposure Compensation (+/-) is set to '0'. For this, you might need to put the camera on 'P' mode.
Some lithium-ion really loose their life easily and sometimes quickly. They are affected by temperatures too.I noticed that when I am charging the batteries tend to heat up and I found out they loose their power quickly when you let them charge and leave them warm.Secret to of prolonging their life is after a full charge zip lock it and freeze them.Of course dry them upon use.Do try a new set of batteries it will resurrect your camera back to life.
Have you recharged the battery many times since you owned it? Did you leave it alone for an extended time and it completely discharged and died? Rechargeable batteries sometimes only last 3 years.
The shutter is jammed open - in picture mode it overexposes and gives the white stripes, in video the shutter stays open and the camera sets the expsoyre, so appears OK. New lens unit will be required.
We can not fix anything, but if it is under warrantty, try sending it to samsung, they can fix it for free if it is not "accidental damage" or, can fix it if it is for about 100- 150 $.
