Can't scan from HP Photosmart C7280 to my Mac Computer

I have read the instructions telling me to press Scan Menu and then press Scan to my Computer. BUT THERE ISN'T A STATEMENT SAYING:  SCAN TO MY COMPUTER. I have tried other options on the list but haven't been successful. (Scan and Reprint; Scan to Memory Device; Tiff To Preview; Jpeg to HP Photosmart Share; Jpeg to HP Photosmart Studio; Jpeg to iPhoto; Email to Apple Mail;  Email to Entourage;  OCR to TextEdit; OCR to MSWord;  PDF To Preview) these are my options, please help me to find out which one I should use. Thanks in advance, Colleen

Do you mean "Solution Center", or Essentials? My Solution Center will not let me scan Docs or anything. And for Essentials, thats for pictures isn't it ? I've gone to HP and downloaded the latest software and still can't scan with Solution Center. I have been using MS Office PGM to scan, but it sure would be nice to scant to pdf.

The best way to scan documents from the scanner to your computer is to use HP Photosmart Essential. If you don`t already have it installed it can be downloaded from the HP site. Once in the program it is very simple to follow. It is basically a point and click operation.

Let me know how you make out and we can do other things if this doesn`t work for you.

Please remember to rate me.

CANNOT SCAN FROM MY HP PHOTOSMART 6510 TO MY MAC

I'm not familiars with macs but I would not even mess with the HP software. Open whatever photo/graphics program you have, find "aquire image" or something similar and see if it "sees" the scanner. If it does, just scan directly from the software.

Can not scan to mac computer from hp c7280. What should I do? I need to know how to scan hp c7280 to my imac computer. I receive the message "refer to device documentation to troubleshoot." ...

There are multiple ways to use the scanner on your Mac. If your Mac recognizes the scanner as a device, then you can use the scan from the Mac using Preview or Image Capture apps (in your Applications folder). You can also use Picasa by going to the import function and finding the scanner and try it from there. If you are having issues getting the HP scanner to recognize the Apple device. Here is the official website for the download from HP. Apple drivers sometimes do the job of getting the scanner to be recognized, but the official drivers might do better.

When trying to scan a photo from the c7280 to the computer the printer displays the following error message No Scan Options : refer to documentation and troubleshoot. This is not covered in my printer...

That's because it's not a printer problem. The scan options are in your computer in the scanning software for your machine. Before you can scan you need to be connected to your computer with scan software running to tell it how to scan, what you're scanning, and where to send and save the image you scan.

Can not scan to my computer

Hello,

Scanning thru a wireless connection is not supported on these printers. Printing does not require that much data to be sent back to the computer, scanning of course does. Printers require a bi-directional signal path to allow scanning such as USB and parallel ports. Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

Can't scan to computer

I am not an expert, only a c7280 user. I use my printer wirelessly and was having problem scanning when using the controls directly on the printer (scan menu). By trial and error, I tried scanning by going to HP solution center on my computer and just followed the directions from the scan menu. That worked. If you can print wirelessly, you can scan wirelessly. I agree the HP support is a huge waste of time. I only get mad talking to them.

Scanning to computer

I had the same problem until I set up the various choices using the HP software on the computer. It then saves Scan to Computer as "x" file (your choice). Save your settings in the HP Solutions Setup Center. Then, when you check your printer, they will all be there as choices when you select Scan button.
