Re: canon faxphone L170 won't copy
If you look at the top piece of paper in the cassette is there a smug mark or wrinkle in the paper. you my just need to clean the feed roller. ( black or gray roller ) . I'm not sher on this model if it is a rear paper feed or a cassette from under if it is a back feed one look in side the paper shoot of any fournobject is in there. Hope for the best.

You just pull down the front cover that is just below where the copies come out of the machine. You will see the toner cartridge. It has a small "handle" on it. It just pulls out the front of the machine. Then just unpack the new one making sure to remove the seal tape if it is installed on your new toner. Then re-install the new cartridge and close the door. If you have your users manual for the machine, the instructions are in the manual. If you are using a OEM Canon toner cartridge I believe the instructions are included in the box.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
i think that somone was oppened the cover by force, that can damadge the cover switch.
open the front cover, look inside is there any foreign body, is the cover switch looks fine,
look at this picture from the user guide page 152:
On the controll panel there is a diamond shape picture with a eye in it.press that bottom and clear the fax that you received. There is no other way.You will have to phone the sender and ask them to change the papersize settings on the fax machine.
Ther is a separation pad that developes a divot caused by the feed roller. Simple fix. order a new separation pad. It's located under the top cover. Just move slowly and identify the latches that hold the cover down. Don't force anything.
Another possibilty. If a document was forcably pull out of the document area the "White paper bar above the scanner glass might have been jerked out of it's normal position causing a blockage in the path. Investigate this possibility before ordering parts.
either dubree on the rollers or on the corona wires, wires clean with acalohol and q-tip, very carefully or you will brake the fire, look where the line is at and open the machine and locate where the issue is and remove and clean this area very carefully.
