Go to Options, then Security Options, then General Settings, then change Password from Disable to Enable, then Click the back button (it is the one next to the track ball), select save, then a screen will pop up asking you to enter the password you want you wil have to enter it twice. WARNING:If you enter the wrong password to many times it will cause your phone to scrub its memory which means you will loose every thing you have on it. So becareful about using a password you can remember. Also crackberry.com has some great forums for help also.
Good Luck

How to register my blackberry9530

Hi,

Registering Your BlackBerry, your cell phone's carrier will provide you with their website address where you will create a "New Account" and then enter your BlackBerry's "Device PIN" and "Device IMEI" information so you can register your phone. Registering takes less than 10 minutes. Once the process is complete, you will have access to all of your phone's features. Make sure you have a notepad close by to write down your "Username" and "Password" so you can access the website again. You will also receive an email address with the name of your carrier and a "blackberry.net" ending.

Locating Needed Information About Your BlackBerry: There are several ways to obtain your BlackBerry's PIN and IMEI. The quickest way is to look on the outside of the box your BlackBerry came in. There will be a sticker containing these numbers. The required information for registration is also found on the BlackBerry itself. Turn your cell phone off, turn it over and remove the battery pack. You will then see a sticker with the PIN and IMEI information on it. The PIN and IMEI numbers are also available by navigating through your phone's settings to the "Status" screen. You will want to write these numbers down in your cell phone's manual. Make sure you keep your any documentation and manuals that came with your BlackBerry so you can consult the information in case of problems.
Bookmarking Your Carrier's Website: After you register your BlackBerry, make sure you bookmark your carrier's log-in website so you can quickly sign in to check your account, receive alerts and other information. You may want to bookmark the website on both your home and office computer so you can access information about your BlackBerry from both locations. If you have any problems with your carrier's website, there is usually a "Contact" or "About" page on the website and a telephone number or email address for contacting the carrier.
Thanks.

Hello someone has put a password on my blackberry and now i carnt use it as i dont the the password. is there any way i can remove it/

do the following:

Type in the incorrect password. The BlackBerry will tell you how many more tries you have to enter the wrong password before it resets (you usually have between three and ten tries total.) Continue entering the wrong password. You may be prompted to enter the word "blackberry" a few times to continue--this is to make sure that you (or a child ) aren't accidentally and unknowingly typing in the wrong password.

Allow the device to reset itself and shut down. Try to restart the BlackBerry. If nothing loads, the application software was removed as well and you should proceed to the next step. If you see your normal screen, proceed to the last step below.

Connect the device to your computer via your USB cord (this comes with your phone) and load the Blackberry Desktop Manager software (if you don't have it download it at na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop).

Click "Application Loader" then "Add/Remove Applications." Select "BlackBerry System Software" (along with any other applications you want to download to your phone) and then "Next." Verify the list of applications you want to download on the next screen and click "Finish." Allow the Blackberry software to reinstall.

Enter a new password under "Options" then "Password" (or the similar choice) on your BlackBerry.

  • Step 3 Allow the device to reset itself and shut down. Try to restart the BlackBerry. If nothing loads, the application software was removed as well and you should proceed to the next step. If you see your normal screen, proceed to the last step below.
  • Step 4 Connect the device to your computer via your USB cord (this comes with your phone) and load the Blackberry Desktop Manager software (if you don't have it download it at na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop).
  • Step 5 Click "Application Loader" then "Add/Remove Applications." Select "BlackBerry System Software" (along with any other applications you want to download to your phone) and then "Next." Verify the list of applications you want to download on the next screen and click "Finish." Allow the Blackberry software to reinstall.
  • Step 6 Enter a new password under "Options" then "Password" (or the similar choice) on your BlackBerry.

I want to reset my blackberry 8830

Set a password on the device (Options, Security Options, General Settings, Password "enabled". It will prompt you to create a password). Lock the device or turn it off. Enter an incorrect password. Keep trying to enter an incorrect password. It will likely have you type in the word "blackberry" after about 5 incorrect attempts. After five more incorrect attempts it will likely have you type in the word "blackberry" again and warn you that it is about wipe the handheld. Do this and it will wipe the handheld.

you need to remove IT policy , here is the working solution how to remove IT policy tested by me many times

Go to your Options : Security >> Security Options (the same page where you can enable/disable passwords) & scroll to the bottom. If there's an IT policy attached, it will be mentioned there. Remove the IT policy using these instructions

    Procedure
Step 1 : Ensure the Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry Internet Service, and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you are unsure, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall the Desktop Manager and start again. If you don't have the CD that came with your Blackberry, the Software can be downloaded here.

Step 2 : Download the file policy.bin and save it in your Blackberry installation directory (C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry).

Step 3 : Wipe your Blackberry, creating a backup if necessary. Select Options/Security/Wipe on the Device. If this option is unavailable, you may have to install the latest software on your Blackberry. You need to Download and install the latest OS for your device. Connect your device, open the Desktop Manager, select Application Loader, and follow the prompts.

Step 4 : Close the Desktop Manager if it is open.

Step 5 : From the Windows XP Start Menu select Run..., and at the prompt type regedit. In the tree on the left hand side, navigate to:

    HKEY_Current_Users\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\PolicyManager

Right-Click the Policy Manager Folder and select New/String Value. Name the value Path. Now, Double-Click the Path Subkey and set Value Data to:

    C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\policy.bin

Step 6 : Open the Desktop Manager.

Step 7 : Connect the Device. Verification Once complete, the Options/Security screen on your Blackberry should not contain references to an IT Policy, you should now be able to change all settings (including password prompts), and install Third Party Applications.
