Look at the back of the wireless router.  There is a reset button.  Take a ball point pen and push that little button that says reset and hold it (while the unit is on and plugged in).  Hold the button for about 15-20 sec.  Then let go of the button and you should be able to log back in.  Your IP address to access your router should be:   192.168.1.1     Your default password and username will be (Username: admin    Password: admin)
Any questions, just ask!!!

Click around once you're in the settings. There should be a setup tab with the password change somewhere.

I can't remember my encryption number and want to be able to have other computers wireless in my house

The only solution to recover your encryption passphrase or WEP key is to reset the router. Doing so will restore the router back to factory settings and clear out any settings in resident memory.
To do so, simply use a pen to push in and hold the reset button located on the back of the router (next to the power adapter connector) for 10 seconds.
Again, please note that this will erase all of your custom settings and restore it back to factory settings (like the day you bought it). However, from there, you can re-customize your settings and add your other computers to your wireless network.

How can I locate the PIN number of the router I have on the Linksys tag the model, under that a S/N# under that a MAC#? Is my MAC# the PIN#?

Are you trying to connect to the wireless network on the windows VISTA / 7 computer? Sometimes it willl ask you for PIN number. you don't need to enter the PIN number. On the same page you will get the option, I don't want to configure, i want to enter the key. click on it and it will go to the next step. if you network is secured then it will ask you for the network key. Enter the key and it will connect you to the network. If you are trying to add any other wireless device in the network then try to bypass this step and connect to the network manually.

Linksys reset
The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router’s password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).

I forgot my password

If you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.

To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.

Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.

To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.

LinkSys Default Password

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router.
