Blue screen when the tv is on

My tv with the converter box was working fine. Then today I accidentally unplugged the converter box when it was on. When i went to plug it back in and turn it on, all that came up was a blue screen. I have the tv set to channel 3, and when i press the menu button on the converter remote, absolutely nothing happens.

TV was working fine untl I accidentally hit the Menu button, then the screen went black except for the top bar that shows the channel, program name, description, etc...

Press the TIVO button. This should return you to the main screen. If this doesn't work, the box is most likely hung up. Unpolug the power cord, count to 10 and plug it back in. It will take a few minutes to boot back up, but this should fix the problem.

My 622 DVR dual (DISH ) receiver has lost 3 local channels in a row ( SAT 61.5) . Connecticut 7385,7386,7387 - (ch 20,24,26.) Other tv's/ HD box and old 310 box converters work fine. I have unplugged,...

Hello, my name is Daniel Busa with Dish Network customer service. Whats probably causing the issue would be that either you're not getting high enough signal strength on the 61.5 satellite. Otherwise there could be an issue with the box if you swap it with another reciever in the home, and the issue follws it you'll need a new box.

Lost power on the converter box, plug works fine.no red or blue light on this zenith converter.

I would check the startup resistors and the electrolitic capacitors on the power supply board it quite common for them to loose capacitance and cause the power supply not to start,it can be proved some times by warming the psu board with a hairdryer then turning on. i hope this helps?

Hi, we have a Philips Plasma TV with receiver box, serial # FTR9965/17S. Recently we hooked a sound bar up to it. It still worked fine for a day, but the next day, the screen was black, the little light on...

If you have the owner's guide at home, shoot me the model number from the set itself; it should be shown on the guide.
If I can determine the nature of the 'receiver box,' perhaps I can suggest a work-around. I have a feeling that is a converter of some kind and it may be of a type not brand dependent; i.e., replaceable with another brand.
I'd really like to help you and gain some insight into this problem too.

People are blue on my dish network

Most likely you are connected to your TV via component video (green, blue, and red). The first thing I would check is the red cable making sure it is plugged in all the way to both the TV as well as the sat rcvr.

No antenna reception with digital converter box.

Hello Faznmc,

I have found that with an ordinary antenna connected to the converter box it can receive nearly all channels, however I have run into cases where I had to use an amplified TV antenna to pick up signals. I have started telling folks that when they install their converter boxes to try to use the plain old rabbit ears antenna, but if that does not work, use an amplified antenna, and that usually does the trick.

I hope this helps
Thank you,

Digital converter box setup

Hi Kilroy75,

It sounds like you probably set this up properly. The converter box is powered on, indicated by the blue light (it is illuminated red if powered off). I would recommend that you check to see if your TV has to be on a specific channel to receive external input.

To double check the connection, you should be able to follow the antenna into the converter box, then the converter box into the TV. Check to make sure you have input/output correct, and that video matches video, audio matches audio, etc.

Also, some antennas require power. If this is the case, make sure the antenna is plugged in and powered on.

If none of these suggestions help, I would try a little troubleshooting to determine which piece of equipment is giving the problem. Try connecting another device into the same input to see if your TV receives signal through input 1. You may also try a different set of A/V cables or a different input on the TV.

If you still are unable to get your setup working, I recommend you bring the converter box into your local Geek Squad® precinct for further troubleshooting and advice.

Thank you,
Jason,
