Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Black display When I turn my camera on the display is black, the other parts of the camera are working, the camera will snap as if it took a picture but I can see nothing. If I hold it to the light and look through the lens I can see variations in the screen but nothing that I can make out. It has not been dropped to my knowledge.

Thank you for your E-mail inquiry regarding your PowerShot A75 camera.
It has recently come to our attention that the vendor-supplied CCD image sensor used in this Canon digital camera may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all. Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, products exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor.

Canon 60D playback images turning up black

Did you switch to Tv (shutter mode) and took pictures for several seconds? like in the dark? Because saving the picture can take as long as the shutter time was.
Before panic. (Actually you never should panic) check your camera in automatic mode. And make sure you did not select any power save action, that puts your display on dark while shooting.
But always be sure your battery is charged and check its capacity. In the menu yo can check under the wrench symbol, when you select Battery info. Page 268 of the manual.
Working with a bad battery can damage the camera in the end.

My Camera will turn on but the display is black. I took a picture to see if the light in the display was messed up but it is taking black pictures. My husband messed with the display settings and it worked...

Reset your gadget to factory defaults........ If the problem is due to wrong settings then it will solve it. And If not, then their could be a mechanical problem so, get it serviced................

Try cycling through the Display button until you're able to view photo to be taken.

My camera screen is black.

If the new pictures are all black, then the problem is not on the LCD display, but it is a faulty CCD sensor.

The CCD image sensor is the device that captures the picture .

CCD sensor is covered even after warranty, contact canon ringing the phone number listed on the owner manual.

Canon A620 No Picture

First try hitting the DISP button (sorry if this offends, but many people have made this mistake). If this doesn't help, next try resetting the camera. Turn on the camera, and hold the menu button for at least five seconds. Believe reset is also in the menus.

If the above doesn't help, then unfortunately this sounds like your CCD image sensor may have failed. This would then require professional repair. Contact Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON.

Sounds like you might have accidentally turned the display off. Turn on the camera and press the DISP button once on the back of your camera.

It is possible you have the display turned off... Some cameras allow you to do this to save battery.

Upper part of pictures is black

This seems to be a CCD problem or associated circuits. Sony Support Team should know about this - may mean a camera callback or swap from Sony.
