Re: Aculaser CX11F won't connect to wireless ADSL Gateway
Use this tip for a fast check list. Connect to gateway using a Lan cable and be sure you can browse Internet. Then create a specific SSID and check if you see it on WLan adapter Then remove security from router and check if you connect, let me know if you need more help

You CAN do this if you have access to the firmware of the ADSL gateway.
Connect cat5 cable from ethernet port on cable modem to ethernet port 1 on ADSL Gateway. (Must be port 1)
-Connect cat5 cable from computer NIC to other port on ADSL Gateway.
-(You may need to) Start->Run->cmd
ipconfig -release all
Here's the trick...
-Open web browser, go to ADSL Gateway homepage (likely 192.168.0.1)
-Configuration tab, Advanced WAN->WAN
-Change WAN PORT drop down from DSL ATM PORT to ETHERNET PORT 1
-Click Edit button. Change Protocol from PPPoE to ROUTED.
-Radio button for DHCP Client to Enable.
-Click Set button.
-(You may need to) Power cycle both Cable Modem and ADSL Gateway device
Now this was done on a Westell ADSL gateway from verizon, yours may differ and you may need to look up the instructions for your specific gateway.
by default, this gateway is using the WEP encryption, you can find the WEP on the barcode sticker on the gateway itself. if still can't connect to it. reset the gateway by pressing the reset button on the gateway for 8secs.. this will revert the gateway back to default settings.
Your computer sees its connection to the gateway - that's your "connected" - without being connected to the internet. First check that all cables are securely plugged in, especially the cable from the phone jack to the gateway device. You may need to cycle power on the gateway device to restore the DSL connection, and you may need to reboot the computer afterward to reconnect to the Internet (depending on your OS).
Connect using Lan Cable be sure to enable java on your Browser. Use ONLY IE: some router refuse other browser. SET your PC on a static IP address on SAME subnet as your router (but of course different IP). If subnet concept is NOT clear to just just ask here. When connected with router (on Lan Cable) check every setting (WPA-PSK) TKIP key, Broadcast / Channel etc. You can also disable every WLAN protection and restore it later. Activate WLAN connection WHEN you are STILL connected. Last but not least: SET your DNS IP address = your gateway IP (router)
