Installing the Lanzar SD34MIP stereo

I installed the Lanzar SD34MIP stereo in the car and tried using the DVD player to test it out and the screen just always says "you cannot use this funtion while driving" and I can not see the DVD image on the screen. How do I unlock this funtion?

Ground the emergency brake wire, I forget the color. This is all you have to do.

My dvd stero is playing my dvds, but there is a black screen showing do not watch while drive. How di turn that off because I am not driving and its still coming on!

  1. Check that yellow RCA cable behind the unit is properly connected and that the monitors are correctly set to the accept NTSC (assuming) input.
  2. Check to make sure the unit is set to NTSC or Auto in the TV output Menu you can also select the P/N during the DVD to see the status.
  3. Also trying a reset to the unit may clear out any settings that could be preventing playback. Simply remove the front cover and use a ball point pin.

I'm trying to find out which wire is the remote wire for a 2004 hyundai elantra

Do you mean the ignition wire to turn the radio on/off with the key? It's usually red. Are you installing the radio using a stereo kit for that car? Stereo kits for their particular model and year are usually color coded for the wires in that car. If not, i recomend buying the harness kit. makes things soooo much easier. If you don't want to go that route just test the wires with a test light. turn on the key, then turn off til you get the right wire(like i said, it's usually red, the 12 volt constant is yellow, and of course your ground is black. good luck

How to detach face of lanzar stereo?

Here is a link to the owner's manual: http://www.lanzar.com/manuals/VBD1700MP.pdf (Note that the "DCP release button" is the upper-leftmost button on the unit.) On page E-5, it says: 2.DETACHABLE CONTROL PANEL (D.C.P.) Removing The Detachable Control Panel (D.C.P.). 1. Turn the power off 2. Press the D.C.P. release button 3. Remove the D.C.P. Attaching the DCP CAUTION 1. Attach the panel at the right side first, with point B on the main unit touching point A on the D.C.P. (As shown on the digram). 2. Then press the left side of D.C.P. onto the main unit until a ?click? sound is heard. DO NOT insert the D.C.P from the left side. Doing so may damage it. The D.C.P can easily be damaged by shocks. After removing it, place it in a protective case and be careful not to drop it or subject it to strong shocks. When the release button is pressed and the D.C.P is unlocked, the car's vibrations may cause it to fall. To prevent damage to the D.C.P, always store it in a protective case after detaching it. The rear connector that connects the main unit and the D.C.P is an extremely important part. Be careful not to damage it by pressing on it with fingernails, pens, screwdrivers, etc. Note: If the D.C.P is dirty, wipe off the dirt with soft, dry cloth only. And use a cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean the socket on the Socket back of the D.C.P.
