No when it is blue it means you have internet, when it is yellow or amber there is no signal. Are you sure that your router in its settings that the wireless check box is enabled ? Can you connect with cable for certain.Probably you need to check the setting like I posted here.
Do laptops pick up the wireless signal and connect to your router? If not maybe you don't have the router configured for wireless.
If other devices such as laptops pick up the wireless router signal then there is no need to go into the router changing things because if you do, the things that work now, might not work.
Can your ipad see the wireless router (SSID) as one of the networks within range? If so, maybe you put the password in wrong. The password is case sensitive (caps and small letters must be exact or it will never connect).
Have you tried with another computer to isolate the issue, weather its from the router or the computer. If same problem persists with another computer, maybe the router is set not to broadcast the SSID.
This could be a few things. 1) Did you ever set p your router to only put out so many IP addresses? Meaning normally it is set for 50 IPs but a lot of people go in and set the IPs up for only how many computers are on it. This causes problems when people come over your house and connect their phones and such. 2) Some time when you put on new devices you have to reset your router. It has conflicts sometimes and all that is needed is a good reboot. 3) I don't know your unit but make sure you have everything setup to be auto on your device. Meaning auto ip, DNS and, Gateway on your player is set that way. 4) It maybe that your cable is bad. Just to make sure it isn't the cable try it on a laptop. Making sure you turn off your wireless on the laptop when you try this. Is the cable is bad the wireless will still pick up an IP faking you out thinking it works.
Hope this helps.
its your wireless signal you must not have any obstruction between the playstation and the wireless router. walls especialy older ones cause interfearance of signals due to concreat or thick cement on the walls or your routers signal is just to weak try a stronger router with long range capabilities those have more watts to transmit then the standard $30-$60 dollar ones
Does the wireless light still lit on the router? You can try changing the channel on the router (1 6 or 11) ans moving the antenna. If those things did not work upgrade the firmware of the router and reset to factory default. Do not forget to save the configuration file before you reset to factory default.
