Color is not true colors and now won't print at all

I changed the ink twice now and it did not solve the problem. Mean while now the printer won't print at all. I click print on computer and the printer acts as though it is printing and a blank piece of paper comes out. My printer is a year old. Please let me know what I can do.

Canon mg6120 cyan won't print,

  • I had the same problem. Here's what I did to fix it:
Unplugged the printer 2x. On the first try I just plugged it back in and still had the problem. The second time I took all of the ink tanks out, unplugged it (with the power still on, don't know if this makes a difference, but that's how I did it) then plugged it back in. The printer said that it couldn't detect any ink. I reinstalled all ink tanks, and a message said that it had been shut down improperly. Press ok to continue. I test printed a picture with a lot of blue in it and the picture came out true to the exact color of the picture.
That's what worked for me. I hope it works for anyone else with the same problem.

My hp 6500 won't print black. I've changed the cartridge twice. No result. Can the ink not be getting to the printer head?

Unplug the printer for at least overnight. I have 3 of these printers and all 3 have done this. All 3 came back after being unplugged for a long period.
Personally, I think a class action suit might be in order.

My MFC290C printer will not print in black. I changed the ink and it still won't print black. I changed the color of the type and it will print in colors, just not black. I ran the cleaning cylce...

You need to call Brother at 1-877-brother and tell them your mfc is "missing black". They will tell you where to take it to get the print head replaced under Brothers' warranty. This is a VERY common problem and Brother will cover the cost to repair it.

Describe how to change printer to print only black from my computer. I am out of color ink and don't know how to change the settings from my computer.

Unfortunately, you need both ink cartridges to print with this printer.

you can print grayscale (black/white) by:

    This for XP:

    Start
    Settings
    Printers and faxes
Right click the printer icon an select printer preferences
Click the color tab and select grayscale

    Windows 7:

    Start
    Devices and Printers
    Right click the printer icon
    Select printer preferences
    Select features tab
Scroll down and add a dot to grayscale

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

    Thanks, Joe

I replaced the ink cartridge and the alignment screen did not come up, and a result I can't print now. It always came up before. It was printing before I changed the cartridge. How do I solve the problem

Remove the ink and check to make sure that you removed the sticky tape tab from the bottom of each cartridge. If you have then check the carriage where the ink sits for any dry or caked on ink. You can wash this away with alcohol and a cotton swab. Finally check the number on the old ink and make sure that it matches the number on the new ink. Just because the ink fits in the printer does not mean it will work. If everything is good, force the alignment through the printer properties in Windows.

I have just changed my black ink cartridge however still patchy

Typically you do not have to change the color cartridge when you replace the black cartridge.
As far as the spotty printing, it sounds like you have some clogged nozzles caused by the lower quality of ink in refilled or aftermarket cartridges. There cartridge inks may not be up to specification. This is especially true for the ultra fine printers.
To clear the problem you need to insert an OEM cartridge, run the deep nozzle cleaning utiliity at least twice followed by the alignment utility. This should clear up the problem with the spotty and washed out printout.
Let me know if this solves your problem otherwise we can explore other solutiions. For the record, which printer do you have?
    Please rate this solution. Thanks.

How to remove ink in th full ink absorber?

waste ink absorber error message can sometimes be solved by resetting the printer itself. i havent yet tried in ip1880 but in ip1200, th e resetting method is this: (it might also work on other models)
    1. unplug the power cord and the data cable(printer to pc) 2. while press-holding the (printer) power button plug the power cable (do not release printer power button until step 3) 3. press 'resumet' ( the button below the power button of the printer) button twice... 4. release the power button 5. connect the usb cable of the printer to the pc... - a new canon printer shall be found in the list of printers. use it as default printer

Can't use black cartridge only to print

    Unfortunately it is all true.
Personally I would stay away from Lexmark, I am a Canon fan, the MP520 looks real nice, but it's personal choice at the end of the day.
