There should be 4 - 1 near each leg.... all with yellow tags. Don't discard the pins - as the unit should be re-secured if moved in the future.

Vibrating on spin cycle.

If the machine is new there is a possibility that the shipping pin didn't come out completely. If you set the machine up yourself, there is a yellow plastic strap that holds in the electric plug. You need to pull, not cut this plastic strap as it has a pin that is about 8-10" long that goes through under the tub to secure the machine for shipping.

Washplate problem Kenmore Elite Calypso washer

Hello genny2626
Welcome,

You said, your 6 year old Kenmore elite top loader's wash plate doesn't seem to go through its proper motions. When the lid is closed and the washer has filled and the agitating cycle begins, you can hear a vibrating noise as if the plate is trying to move on the gentle cycle, but when the lid is opened, nothing has moved at all. The drain and spin work fine, and the machine goes through an entire cycle without error messages, but the clothes aren't clean. You said, you have heard a lot of horror stories of how expensive these washers are to repair, so would like an idea of what's wrong beforehand.

Here are a list of common vibration noises

Noisy, vibrating, off-balance

Is the washer level? Does the washer rock when pushed
against the corners?
The washer must be level. The front and rear feet must be in
firm contact with the floor. Check that the locknuts are
tightened. See “Level the Washer.”
Is the floor flexing, sagging or not level?
Flooring that flexes or is uneven can contribute to noise and
vibration of the washer. A ³⁄₄" (1.9 cm) piece of plywood under
the washer will reduce the sounds. See “Location
Requirements.”
 Is the load balanced?
Evenly distribute the load in the washer basket and make
sure the height of the load does not exceed the top row of
basket holes. See “Starting Your Washer.”
Do you hear clicking or other noises when the cycle
changes from washing to draining or spinning?
When the drive system shifts or the washer basket settles
between cycles you may hear noises that are different from
your previous washer. These are normal washer noises.
Is the washer gurgling or humming?

Is the washer level? The wash load
should be balanced and not overloaded. The washer must be
level. The front feet should be properly installed and the nuts
tightened. Reset the rear leveling legs (if needed). See the
Installation Instructions.
Did you completely remove the yellow shipping strap with
cotter pins? See the Installation Instructions.
• Are the gears engaging after the drain and before spin, or
is the upper part of agitator clicking during wash? These
are normal washer noises.

Let me know if any of these are the solution!
Huuum

Frigidaire front load washer making a noise and jumping when going through the spin cycle. Why???

If this is a brand new washer, make sure the shipping materials are all removed, yellow shipping pins in back, styrofoam blocks etc. If this is an older machine, new problem, empty the machine, reach into the washer and give the basket a good hard spin, if you hear any type of grinding noise, or excessive rattling, your bearing and possibly the spin basket support are bad. I would also remove the top and front- bottom panel, and make sure the suspension springs and shocks are not broken before assuming the bearing, as this is a very lengthy and expensive job, (although the basket itself should have a lifetime warranty).

ignore those cups with the pins those pins were the travel lock devices and the cotters were attached to the yellow lanyard that whoever first put the unit into service pulled off of the back of the unit per instuctions. this pulled the cotters out of the pins which then fell into those cups. the cotters came out with the lanyard and are long gone. the not spinning is due to something in the clutch not working properly. the moving to one side is caused by one of the pads that the suspension plate rides on being missing. you can look at the diagram on sears website at the parts look up and see were the pads go and find out what the suspension plate is and such good luck!

Brand new machine unbalanced (really unbalanced) during spin cycle. When unpacking there are two plastic "rip cords" that are supposed to remove a total of three cotter pins. Only one cotter pin came out...

oh yea sounds like there still in there alright!!!, tip the unit back if possible and give a look underneath, you see2 or 3( depending on model) plastic tubes approx 2in long mounted to the under carriage around the base. They are there for the sole purpose of "catching" the cotter pins after pulling the rip cord. there should be a cotter pin in each of the tubes. if you see any empty ones look directly above it and youll find the pin, you may have to manually grab the cotter pin to release it withe a set of needle nose pliers or something but the definitely need to be removed.

Moving a top load washer once used

if you have a wet dry shop vac you can pull all the water out through the drain hose till its dry don't think you would have any problems with the storage now shipping across country might be another thing when you got the washer new you had to pull the shipping pins a yellow tab with three cotter pins if you still had them you would need to replace them before shipping you would need to open the case and on the frame below the tub you will see three plastic cups with little pins in them you have to push them back up through the frame and replace the cotter pins to lock the lower frame to the upper tub frame or it wont ride good at all

UNBALANCED WASHER

Does it happen all the time, with no connection to laundry quantity? In case of a positive answer, it sound like a shock absorber issue. Could be that it's moved from its place or become malfunction and should be replaced. Good luck
