My Frigidaire dryer model # FDE847GES0 spins and heats. When it stops to change direction, often it wont start back up. Some times it does, sometimes it wont. What is the cause of this?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# FDE847GES0, spins and heats. I also see that when it stops to change direction, it is intermittently starting back up. There are numerous possibilities that can be causing this. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your dryer as well as determine what the cause of your appliance not starting back up after it changes direction. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I understand you are seeking a replacement dryer belt for your Frigidaire laundry center, GLET1031FS. The replacement dryer belt part number that you would need to order is 137292700.Most parts can be purchased directly from the manufacturer or through a parts distributor in your area (part numbers may vary based on distributor). Hope this helps! - Z

Frigidaire gallery remove pedestals

There should be a bracket on the front and back of the pedestal with screws going into the bottom of the washer or dryer. Many times it is inset so you do not normally see it. Remove the screws in the bracket and it should come right off.
If you do not have brackets it might be screwed in from within the pedestal body in which case you would have to take out the drawer to get to the screws.

Frigidaire Gallery 5.8 Cu. Ft. Gas Dryer GLGQ2152ES There are two issues. One, is that clothes are getting caught and ripped by the dryer. Only once was I able to see where it was caught. Usually...

Yes it us the drum. I am thinking that it is one of the rollers/coasters that keep the drum up against the back of the dryer. In order to actually see if this is the problem we will need to take apart the dryer.
1) unplug dryer
2) open dryer door remove all screws
3) with a flat tip screwdriver gently pry on the two top corners(clips inside) until it pops
4) pull panel forward as we will need to disconnect the door switch
5) set panel aside (oh remember to put screws into a container)
6) lift up on the top panel til a 90, it is hinged won't fall
7) take careful notes of the routing of the belt, draw it out, take a picture etc.
8) remove belt(notice it was centered)
9) lift up and out on the drum
10) the rollers/coasters are bolted or should be to the back wall of dryer, and of circle shape. More then likely they are not.
11) Call an appliance parts store tell them what you need, remove bad rollers if need be take them with you.
12) replace rollers
13) re-insert drum making sure lip is behind new rollers
14) consult drawing/pictures of belt routing
15) route belt
16) notice belt is in middle of drum and drum can be turned by hand
17) find front panel, re-attach door switch
18) let top lid done and push it should click back
19) find screws
20) plug in dryer
Good Luck Tim

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Stackable that has a screechy dryer

Sounds like it is worn out. Get a parts diagram and take it apart and see what parts are missing or worn out. The belt is probably coming apart and that is the black stuff. There are several plastic wear plates and a bearing/bushing for the drum, plus the belt idler and all these can wear out. The motor could also have a bad bushing in it but more than likely that will require a new motor as they don't usually sell just the bushing or end caps.

FWT445GES1 Washer makes loud banging noises like it's going to explode.

Washer- you need a complete tub and bearring kit. this is a common problem for people who have well water. (also just happens) the rear yoke has become corroded and broken. its a costly repair.

dryer - you would need a new front slider seal. very simple to install.

Dryer belt replacement

Take the top panel off by slideing a putty knife about 2 inches in at the front and releasing the tabs. remove screws from top of front panel after top removed. also remove 2 screws from inside of front panel on both sides about 4 inches down screwing back into front panel. pull front off and slip belt through opening. Feed belt around drum and put tension on the idler spring release onto belt. reassemble unit.
