Question about KitchenAid KSRP22FN Side by Side Refrigerator

Water dispenser on Kitchenaid side by side does not work

We have a KitchenAid Side by Side 4 year old refrigerator Model No. KSRI22FNBL00. The ice cube maker works and dispenses, but the water dispenser does not. We can hear a hum when it is depressed. I'm thinking it's the solenoid valve but cannot figure how in the world a do-it yourselfer would be able to do it. Is it in the freezer compartment like it appears from the diagram (and why doesn't it show two tubes coming out?), or is there something in the back where the compressor is? Our previous refrigerator did not have the reservoir so I'm thinking the split doesn't come until the very end. I appreciate anything you can tell me.

Thank you for your rapid response. But the reservoir coils are not frozen. Could it be frozen further up the line? The diagram does not show how the two coils go in the freezer compartment. That's why I think the problem is up there unless there actually is a solenoid valve in the back. But can the control be before the split between the water and ice maker?

I have a Kitchen Aid Model # KTRC19ELWH00 and the inside water dispenser is not working. No water is coming out. The pump is fine but not getting to the inside where it comes out.

Theres two solinoid valves and they should be in the very back of the refrigerator under a cardboard or metal cover.what probly happened was that the resevouir frove oin the refrigerator cabinet. take the bottom shelves out an it should be there behind some sort of cover.

look underneith the freezer side and you will see a tube that goes into the hinge of the freezer door. that is where the water gor=es into the door. you may have to remove the cover on the unit to see it.

That is the inlet water solenoid you hear click. The water maybe frozen somewhere in the hose. You can check for water getting through the solenoid valve by pulling the hose off going to the freezer and have someone push the dispense button while you hold a towel to catch the water coming out of the solenoid. If that works, then the hose is frozen or clogged.

If you add some water there, yourself. It should make some ice for you, untill the water runs out.

Kitchenaid Superba Ice Maker quit

Make sure your manual doesn't say something about inline filters, or a float that might be sticking in off position. Depending on how ice is made sometimes they have a float to where water rises so hight then gets shut off to freeze and form the ice.

Chances are is a bad water valve.  The water valve is on the back of the fridge at the bottom.  You will see the water line going into it.
