Question about Coby DVD-224 DVD Player

Connecting my DVD Player to my Digital Converter Box

I just bought the Isignia Converter Box for my 5-year-old Toshiba television. According to the instructions, I have to connect the converter to my DVD player then connect the DVD player to my television.

The DVD player is a Coby cheapie.

Connecting the converter to the player was easy, but I'm having trouble figuring out which jacks to use to connect the player to the television. The player is a progressive scan player and there are jacks for that. Do I use those to connect the player to the television?

I called Geek Squad and they told me to connect the player to television with the coaxial cable. On the back of the DVD player there is a jack labeled ''coaxial'' but the coaxial cable's plug doesn't fit. And according to the instruction book with the converter, this is not the best way to connect the box to the television anyway to get the best picture and sound.

Any suggestions?

I understand matching the color of the plugs to the jacks, but my confusion is that three of the yellow/red/white jacks are used to connect the converter to the DVD. While the player has more yellow and red jacks, there is no other white jack. Do I just not connect the white cable from the player to the TV?

I'm beginning to think I should've taken a friend's advice to just buy a new television...

The jacks from the player go to the same colored jacks on tv. Then after jacks are connected, tv must be on channel AV or Input. that is the channel used by the jacks.
JUST MATCH UP THE COLORS.

I PERSONALLY USE THE YELLOW, RED, & WHITE RCA JACKS.

THE COAXIL CABLE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IS A REALLY THICK RCA JACK TYPE PLUGIN. IT LOOKS LIKE RCA JACK BUT ON THE INSIDE IS ACTUALLY COAXIL.

JUST MAKE SURE THE CABLES ARE ATTACHED TO THE SAME COLORS FROM DVD TO TV AND YOU WILL BE FINE.

The yellow jacks are for the video
the red and white jacks are for your sound.

Tv should have 1 yellow, 1 red, 1 white jack.

If the tv doesn't have this, then you can use the input jacks on vcr/dvd player and use the older coaxil to hook up dvd/vcr to tv.

Connecting a toshiba sd-v392 to an old analog tv

Make sure your menu settings are correct audio outputs may have a setting for digital or analog sound output check that these are set up to analog or stereo output .Also try hooking the sound up direct to a stereo system or amp to be sure you have output! Also you may not be able to get your sound thru the convertor box!! Because the convertor is a reciever of digital signals not a line amp. for audio !! Hope this helps11 AAAAAAAAAAAAAE!!!! What type of Inputs do you have on your TV. (ANT IN, S-Videio, RCA Video,RCA Audio)

If you only have a ANT In or RF Coaxial hook up you will need a RF Modulator

Connecting DVD to cable only TV and Modulator box and Dish Networ

Without knowing the actual ports on each of these devices, all I can suggest is that have you tried connecting your DVD to the Dish box (thru VCR scart connection at the back of the Dish box) and then the Dish box into your modulator (and then modulator into your tv.

I have a similar system set up but we have a Sky Digital box here, no idea if its the same as a Dish box but im assuming so.
