I've read this problem due to new hardware interferences with desktop computers, all they had to do is change a few pins around on the harddrives.. since this is a laptop, and is quite difficult and dodgy to access the hardware, the only other suggestion is to reinstall windows with a recovery disk, or windows CD-ROM.

Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: computer beeping and saying reboot and select proper boot device

When you reboot, go to BIOS, restore factory BIOS settings. If that doesn't help, you'll need to reinstall your OS.

SOURCE: I picked up a twinhead durabook r15d, upon

The good: Affordable; great battery life; impact protection; spill-proof keyboard; magnesium-alloy frame. The bad: Still no flash card reader; heavy; no double-layer DVD+R support. The bottom line: The Durabook will surely appeal to those who need a rugged notebook to withstand the elements outdoors.

Make sure the HDD is showing in the BIOS, you may have to instal an OS

When turn on it says reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

Either your HDD is dead or somehow boot devices get rearranged in BIOS. Just go to BIOS and fix it.

This problem can be caused by 3 things.
1: Fault Hard Drive.
2: Faulty cables or connection.
3: Faulty motherboard.

As it is a netbook I would recommend taking it to your nearest PC repair shop and asking them to test your HDD and motherboard.

Go to more than one place so that you do not get ripped off.

My PC is not rebooting. It reads on the black screen in white letters "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." What would I do next to...

The computer is trying to boot but it can't access the hard disc drive with the operating system on it to boot up. Make sure the hard disc drive is properly connect to the motherboard. If it is properly connected then it is possible your hdd has failed and needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled. Another thing you can try is determining the maker of your hard disc drive and download thier utility from their website to run on the hdd to try and repair it.

hope this helps

My system does not boot properly

This is common when there are corrupted boot files on your HDD or your HDD has failed. You need to boot to a windows CD and repair your startup files. Alternatively you can reformat to a fresh windows install but you will lose all of your data. If the previous steps fail then it looks like you may need to replace your HDD.
Hope this helps,

Reboot and select proper boot device.or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

This can happen if your data cable connecting the hard drive to the motherboard is loose or needs to be replaced. Another reason for it can be that the device you are trying to boot from most likely either a CD drive or the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.

I/o error. press any key to restart

The jumper on the hard drive may be on the wrong pins for this motherboard. If it's on MA try CS and vice-versa.
