THERE COULD BE A FEW DIFFERENT THINGS WRONG.
IC's on board are burnt out
Caps on hyperboard shot
CRT's / color picture tubes shot,
Capacitors on power supply may be shot

If you know alot about electronics, I can help you. If not, then it will have to be taken to repair shop.

You will need volmeter/ohmeter, solder, solder iron, repair manual, screwdrivers, and electrical tape.

VERY FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS LEAVE THE TV UNPLUGGED FOR AT LEAST 4 HOURS FOR IT TO DO A "HARD RESET". IF THE RESET DIDN'T HELP, THAN INTERNAL COMPONENTS WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED

  • Anonymous Feb 23, 2009

It is most likely an internal electronical componenet that has shorted out and needs to be replaced. I recommend that it is looked at by a certified television technician. There are different test and equipment that must be used in diagnosing television electronical problems

Sounds like You have a loose connection on the main power supply board. You can try a hard reset by unplugging for 4 hours and then try to power up.

My LCD dynex tv will turn on but keeps flashing on and off saying please wait

The fact that Please Wait appears on the screen that the power board is fine. I would unplug the tv for 4 hours and plug it back in to see if the same thing happens. It does appear that you need to replace the main board,

Most likely you have a fault in the back light circuit. To verify this, turn on the set, when the screen goes black, take a bright flashlight and shine it on the screen. It may be easier to dim the lights in the room so that you can see the faint image on the screen. If you see the faint image, you indeed have a back light problem. You will need to get a diagnoses performed on the set to track down the problem

I need bit more info about TV problem to diagnose problem.
1- Please check how many times red light flashing as there would be 3 seconds pause between flashes.
2- How old is this TV?
3- Do you replug TV to turn it On or it turns On itself?
Waiting your reply to provide you solution.
