Cartridge Error

The only step is to perform a Full reset on printer

Disconnect power cord from back of the printer ( when printer is ON )
while holding the # and 6 button connect the cord back

It has to go thru cartridge alignment process, if this does not work, there is problem with printer hardware.. or you can contact HP Support too

Cartridge error

  1. Remove the cartridges from the product.
  2. Wait for the ' Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  4. Wait 60 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button (c01602202.gif ).
  6. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product
  7. if the problem still persists then Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and carriage with cotton swab and alcohol. If the cleaning does not solve the problem you may have a defective cartridge.and you need to replace the catridge with genuine catridge

CARRIAGE JAM

In this case unplug the power supply from the Printer........... 1. Open the Printer Cover.......... 2. Remove both the Catridges from the Printer............ 3. Move the Catridge Carrier which holds the catridge from right to left and from left to right for about 10 times............ 4. Try to make a copy without the catridges........If this works and it gives a Blank Page out............ 5. Insert both the catridges turn the printer off and turn it on again........... 6. Now it should work fine........ Good Luck......

HP LaserJet 2420dn Catridge Data Error

CHANGE THE TONER!
TROUBLE BOILS DOWN TO SAME THING BUT!
IF IT IS AN HP OR A REBUILT NON-HP CARTRIDGE THE E-PROM ON THE CARTRIDGE IS BAD OR DROPPED OFF AND THE PRINTER CAN NOT READ IT.
WHAT YOU COULD DO IS TRY TO TAKE THE E-PROM FROM YOU OLD TONER (IF YOU STILL HAVE IT AROUND AND GLUE IT IN PLACE OF YOUR NEW CARTRIDGES E-PROM
