Recording Mixes from IDJ2 to my MAC

Hello, I want to know the best way I can record a mix onto my mac and then burn a CD to listen to later.  The IDJ2 has Phone out and I assume that goes to my mic input on my MAC.  But what programs can I use, etc.  Thanks, Jared

I don't know about MACs but I assume most computers are the same in their general anatomy when it comes to the sound system.
ie. Windows has a digital recording system built into the OS that allows you to plug an 1/8" patch cable into the "input" of the soundcard of the computer. Years ago I recorded several things from karaoke songs I sang to pre-recorded song I mixed from my DJ console. The volumes needed to tweeked to avoid sound distortion but it sounded so good I've used my recordings at gigs.

Good morning I have a Teac 890MKll now I also have a mackie FX8 mixing board and a pioneer DDJ SR I would like to record my mixes to a disc how can I hookup the teac to record please help

On the rear of your mixer, choose "Line Out" or "Master Out" and connect this to the "Analog In" on the Teac, to record directly to disc.

I would suggest recording to something other than direct to disc first though, such as a laptop or PC, where you can then edit your mixes before recording them.

Hope this helps.

Whats the correct setup for home recording on the samson L2400 mixing console

To avoid feeback whilst recording, make sure all speakers and monitors are turned off while you record. Otherwise the microphone will pick up both the sound of your voice from your mouth as well as the sound of your voice coming out of the speakers, causing an endless loop of nasty feedback! So just make sure speakers (incl. computer speakers if those are what you are using to listen) are muted whilst recording!

Cd burning problems

Hello.....I have a unit similar to yours...and I never had that ptoblem...These units are cool and I love mine...but the cassette players are generally basic units...When you record are you listening to the music at the same time so that you know what's going on?....Ok....When you start the recording process....and you see the disc is rcording...and the cassette finished playing one side...you PAUSE the cd....Flip the tape....press the Pause again to restart the cd...I've never saw one of these types of uits with auto reverse...you have to flip the tape manualy...if you don't...you will only record half of the music....I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.......

I have a st69 and every time I record, the vocals while recording sound very chorus like in the headphones, but they sound fine when I listen to the play back, please help.

Check the mixer settings to be sure you are not sending multiple mixes or effects to the monitor (headphone) output. The output used for recording does not necessarily have the identical sound sources and mixing path as the headphone, so make sure the headphone is monitoring the same signal as the recording output.

Hi.I just want to know if my Behringer UCA202 can give me professional sound in my home studio. How professional is it? Thank you.

It is a low cost alternative. It can be used as an interim choice until you get a true audio interface tailored for a recording studio. I use them to connect to my laptop for recording group mixes for live performances on a bus mix. It works well for that type of application. It has quality sound recording and playback at CD quality.

Want to burn a CD from USB of my avant grande performance

The best way is to copy the audio file from the USB drive to the MAC and then burn the audio file onto the CD using the MAC, provided the MAC has a CD Writer and a burning program.

Timing of Mastering and burning final copy to CD

Hi,

I don't use my Tascam to create CDs for exactly the reasons you are asking about. I do a bounce mix to a couple of tracks and then export via usb to a PC for finalizing and CD creation there.

To answer your questions, you do always need to create a master first for each sermon on the DP-02 before you can burn it to a CD. You also have to finalize the CD to play it on other players.

Mastering as well occurs in real time, so it does take 60 minutes to create a master for a 60 minute recording.

As I don't burn from my Tascam, I didn't realize the burn time was so long though. I would have expected that to be faster for sure. I know my old 2488 MkI is supposed to burn at 4x and I believe the MkII burns at 8x. The DP-02 is newer than both and I would assume it would burn even faster.

Anyway, as I said you might wish to go the PC route. That way you can export the tracks without having to master them and burn them from the PC to CD at up to 40x (depending on the speed of your PC's burner).

Hope this helps.

Copy recorded music on Apple Mac and listen to it using iTunes

make sure that the actual file is saved on to your jvc first of all , so it can be transferred , because like some camcorders you have to finalize the video before it can be used on another equipment , then if that does not work , just download audacity or any mac recorder for free of the web and play the fm radio live via av leads in to your mac and record it live coming from your jvc make sure you save it as an acc( cd quality ) file for best quality or mp3

Xion usb turntable for Mac computer

can you listen to the album through the USB when not recording? I'm asking because it might be that there is a buffer underrun or some other problem that is caused by the computer not being able to code the input fast enough. What are the specs of the mac you are using? are you sure the USB is 2.0? that could be a problem too.
