Xbox was purchased on 30.1.08. Today the green switch turned red and it will no longer work. The details are as follows: Date of manufacture: 1.11.07 Serial number: 421861674405. Product ID:91938541421861674405. As it is 2 days over 1 year since it was purchased, we wondered if there was any help we could get. The item was purchased from Argos - we no longer have a receipt, sadly but on my bank records I paid for the item with a cheque on 30.1.09 and gave it as a present to my son the following day.
Carollesly, you can send the xbox away and get a brand new Xbox
360 console in exchange. All you have to do is pay for the postage. Contact the following numbers and they should be able to give you all the help you need!
Here are the Telephone details, 0800 587 1102 or +44 20 7365 9792 from a mobile phone Hearing Impaired (TTY device): 0800 587 1103
this is of no help all i can recommend to you is to go onto 'google'
and type this in "Xbox 360 contact". Then it will come up first result
'Contact us' then click on that.
May i also add a bit of helpful advice to either you or your son, about once a month just clean the console with the hoover to get rid of dust build up and to have the console somewhere where it isn't hot as that can cause the 'Red ring of death' which your sons console has experienced.

The red light of death is a common problem with Xbox, if it stays red you would have a problem, there is a known cooling problem with the internal workings with the Xbox I suggest you get a cooling fan that clips onto the Xbox and plugs into the USB socket it is available on E bay an costs around fourteen pounds. Make sure your Xbox is properly ventilated.
NOTE: If you
getting the three red lights and you have not opened your console
means call Microsoft first at 1-800-4MY-XBOX this will get you in touch
For the rest of us who have opened their console
one of many reasons like adding a suped-up case or even a well overdue
for that matter, there is a viable solution; the "x-clamp fix".
For most consoles only the GPU x-clamp needs to be
replaced, but some also require the processor clamp be replaced as
For this tutorial we will be doing both clamps at the same time. We
suggest you do both right away since even if yours does not require the
clamp replacement it will not hurt to do it and it only takes slightly
complete the fix.
well if your 360 green light is on and the green light is on the battery box your AV cable is broken a new one is 10 to 15 dollars or if you have a old tv you might have the tv switch set on HDTV or if you have a HDTV it might be set on tv. i hope this helps your problem.
Unfortunately, I have to say you have the red ring of death, you only have one solution to this problem you are going to have to call Microsoft and have them send you the mailing box and wait about 3 to 6 weeks to get another Xbox.I have to say that you will not get the same xbox back but you will get one that is fixed. If you have purchased online content your s**t out of luck as you will no longer have access to any of this content. They are currently still working on this issue but don't have a solution to that problem. Yes, it sucks but you don't have to pay anything.
