i'm not sure of my model #. it's at least 10 years old. When pressing the start button, it buzzes but it won't start. THis happened before, but it just fixed itself. Now it won't. Unplugged it to see if that worked, but to no avail.

Reach inside the dryer and try turning the drum. It shold be very easy to turn by hand. If it is stiff then that is an indication of a bad motor or rollers or Idler. Bust it down and take a look see. If you decide to get another motor remember the blower has reversed threads in it. So righty loosey on it.I can clean a dryer oil everything and replace the motor in less than an hour and that is throughly cleaning it too. Dryers are simple creatures. If you ain't got money for a new motor in these tough times you could try something drastic but it sometimes works. Drill some 1/8th inch oil ports in the bearing wells on either side of the motor. Carefull not to hit the shaft! Put some hi grade temp resistant zoomspout oil from ace hardwarer in each well and work the motor free.Use that same stuff to oil the rollers and idler. It may go 1 more load or it may last for years. Who knows? How do I get into my dryer and other good s stuff

Dryer won't start when pushing the button it clicks

Could be a broken belt if you hear motor, also can be defective door switch. you can try pushing door switch with finger and press button If motor does not make a sound and pressing door switch does nothing you will need a volt meter and test for power if you hear moter then its broken belt or jambed drum. Try and manually move drum

Kenmore Electric Dryer 66812 clicking not starting

I hate to tell you this, but it is probably the timer. The good news is that it is easy to replace and you don't have to have a tech to do it.
