Nic card not working? How to troubleshoot? Is there a plug and play nic card that can be installed onto this desktop PC?

Hello Sqis,

You can purchase any nic card which is compatible with WinXP or 7.

Insert the card in PC Slot of the motherboard.

Install the driver for the card and it will work.

Aspire L310 Desktop: can acer aspire L310 desktop work with win xp and ...

Yes. I am currently updating an Acer Aspire L310 (lunchbox format) desktop.

Many of the drivers are contained on the XP installation disk and will automatically be installed when you install XP.

Other Drivers:

Assuming your L310 has the same hardware (may not), you can use the following Hardware detail to locate the drivers by typing in the hardware model into a search engine like Bing.

NIC - Marvell Yukon 88e8056 PCI-e GB; this driver can be downloaded from On this website, just type in the model info and it will direct you to the driver download.

Wireless NIC - Broadcom 802.11g; download from

Display/motherboard chipset - Once you have installed XP and the NIC driver, go to and click on the "downloads/support" option. The website provides an autodetect utility that will identify your hardware and provide updated drivers.

Audio - go to Realtek website and select "downloads". Download/install the high definition audio driver for XP.

Once you are up and running with XP, run the Microsoft Windows Update utility and it will find updates for many of the essential drivers.

...hope this info helps

I need the driver for intex realtek nic card no. rtl8139d83301s1 L828e taiwan

The Intel RTL 813 NIC is a built in Lan card on the mother board, hence you should find the drivers on the mother board CD.

However, if your's is a branded computer like Dell, HP, E-Machines, etc. it should have accompanied with the system.

Incase if teh CD is missing, please click on the link below to get a free download.;pop

R300 2nd NIC card "No driver installed"

I saw this a couple of months ago...let's see if I can remember:

In our case we even added a third nic (pci) and it wouldn't work

First, it is possible that the new mainboard has a different chipset on the nic than the last one. Check the driver d/l site for alternate drivers or Contact Dell support to be sure the right driver is in place.

Regardless of how secure your systems may be, please scan with the following three free excellent products:
malwarebytes antimalware
asquared free

Also, does the nic work if you slow it down or on auto?

I think it was malware in my clients' case. Get back to me if still ng and I'll ask their sysadmin if she remembers.

The error code is for a bad NIC board. Are you sure the new board is good? I would try to put the NIC board in another copier just to see if it's good. I've never had any problems putting in the NIC board and it not working. What was your oringinalproblem that you hadto replace the board in the first place? The main controller may be bad also. Good luck.
