Your best bet is to get generic replacement belts at www.mcmelectronics.com You will have to measure each belt's length and diameter, also width if its a flat belt.

The belts you have replaced are used to operate the loading/unloading mechanism I assume. On the bottom of the cassette mechanism you will find the other belts...one from motor to idler wheel assy. or actual reel hub. Older cassette decks also used a belt to drive the tape counter mechanism.

The belt drive unit is only ran by a SMALL rubber band. It may be that the actual band is broken or the motor itself is shot. Unplug the stereo from the wall and remove the cover CAREFULLY, look in at the tape drive and check the "RUBBER BAND" first.

Older cassette decks used belts from the motor to the capstan, another from the motor to an idler assy. or tape reels (FF & RR) and another belt driving the mechanical tape counter.

Hi,
Tape players have several rubber belts in it and if we do not use them frequently belts loosen and become useless and they need to be replaced... . To accomplish this however you need some sort of handy man ability.. Take out the metal cover of the player by removing the screws on the sides .after removing the cover you can access the tape head /transport mechanism. if you look carefully to underneath of tape transport you will see the motor unit which belts will be there...check the belts for the moving mechanism and make sure the belts are not loosen / worn out or broken . You can replace it with a new one that may available in radio Shack stores. Take care..and let me know if it does not work out..

Where to buy a crawl tool to reinstall belts of sony tc we 605s cassette tape deck

Hi,
There is no crawl tool to reinstall belts in this tape deck, it just needs little expertise/ skills.
First put flat belt on motor pulley then slowly thread the flat belt on both capstan wheels with help of tweezers or some thing.
Let me know your email to send you related service manual free copy that has exploded views of mechanism and I hope that will help you to reinstall belts in correct direction/ way.
Thanks.

Cassettes tapes not moving in my Panasonic RX-ED77

If you can her the motor turning, there is a good chance that the belt(s) have broken and need to be replaced. If you hear nothing, then there could be a control issue. I'm leaning toward the belts though. Figure on $5-$15 for the belts,

If the unit ends up in the middle of a cycle, the front panel will appear to be unusable. With a unit that has been idle for a long time, the belts and motors may be a little sluggish. This unit needs a general overhaul and the belts replaced. This should not be a major expense. Figure about $10 in belts and your ocal labor charge for the repair. If I remember correctly, this unit uses both a flat and square belt.
