I have a Magtag PAV2300. When it is in the spin cycle the tub goes off balance and has a knocking sound. What can I do about this.
This may help. There is a plastic tab at the bottom back center of the washers (Mine is clear Plastic). This is designed to hold the Tub i n place when it is shipped. First try turning this 90 Degrees, until it is noticable loose. If that does not fix it, you can actully pull the plastic thing out with pliers, as it serves no purpose once the washer in place. I turned mine and the problem seemed to go away so I did not pull it out, but the guy at the store said I could pull it out if I wanted to.
Give that a try

The motor switch that is mounted on the motor may need replacing. The knocking could mean that the "run" winding is cutting off momentarily, and running on the "start" winding of the motor. I dont know about a 22 year old model, but in most "near modern" machines, the switch has a plastic actuator that is pushed when the motor obtains near-run speed, that plastic may be worn or the actuator part on the motor may be at fault. If you replace the motor, you usually get this switch as part of the deal.

I have the same problem with the MVWC500 Centinnal Commercial Technology washer. This is a new washer. My old washer did this very seldom.
