Orion tv/vcr combo to work with Philips universal remote?
I have purchased a used 1998 Orion tv/vcr combo (#TVCR1321A) that I am trying to set up with an also included Philips universal remote. (no manuals for anything). Through reading other solutions @ FixYa, I was able to get the tv portion to work with the remote. But can't get it set/coded right for the vcr portion to work with the remote ALSO. I had tried the codes you offered but that did nothing. The way i got the tv to finally work was your suggestion on...code search hold, mode button then push the channel button up up up until results. I got results at about the 35th push. Thank you. Most RCA and GE universal remotes can be programmed to work with your equipment. Walmart has one for less than $8 that works with most units, and also works with DTV tuners. You may have to program the DVD and the TV as two separate buttons
I have the same model TV, also without a remote. I found a Philips universal remote model CL019 at Big Lots and it works just fine. However, for some reason when I tried to program in the channels it would only program in up to channel 23, and then after about 15 seconds add channel 60. Can anyone help?
my panasonic tv model no. PV-DF2704, program light is blinking and I don't know how to cut it off. It is causing my tv to cut off. My remote control will not work. I bought it second hand. I program a universal remote and it works for a little while, but I can not set my tv for cable. Please help me if you can.
I had this problem with my TV/VCR combo unit (Samsung CXC1972) after losing the remote while in the dorms. I tried a few different universal remotes and dozens of codes before I tried the Philips 3 device universal remote as pictured below with code 037 programmed into the VCR/DVD button. I can't change the volume with this code but the input key switches between line in and tv. You can also change the channel, access the menu and operate the VCR functions with the code. I bought the remote for less than $10 at Walmart so it might be worth a try, and if it doesn't work you can always bring it back. Hope this helps.
NOT A SOLUTION, however my remote stopped working a couple months ago. I subsequently tried several universal remotes - none of these worked. An educated guess might be that the problem is NOT with the remote control unit, but rather something inside the set itself. This might also explain why the MW24FM1 you bought "didn't come with a remote".
