Hi and welcome to FixYa,

In most models, there would be a MENU button. Pressing on that would display choices, look for SETUP. Use channel up/down to move, volume up/down to select/. You would be provided with choice of AIR, STD, HRC or IRC, select CABLE. Thereafter perform CHANNEL SEARCH. In other models it would be similar with variations.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

You want to go to the menu on your tv and keep going until you find the Auto-Tune Channels or Tune Channels. That will take a few minutes and after it is done you will be able to go through channels. If you are talking about Digital Cable you need to use the remote that came with your Digital Cable Box. Hope this is what your question is referring to.

You need to get into the menu and change it from air to cable and then run the channel search.it will find all the channels and you wont have to do anything else.

TV will search cable channels and store it in memory. Please start Auto Preset function in TV to store all available channel data in TV memory.

Tv wont tne in to ch9 why iam getting all the other channels

If you are using an antenna to receive broadcast TV you may have to rescan to add channel 9 back into the TV's channel list. If this does not work, it may be seasonal or a weak signal from your channel 9 broadcaster. I use a signal booster on my antenna (purchased at Radio Shack..)

Model VR-4625 wont pick up any channels with auto scan

Look to see correctly hooked and that in the menu the set is now not set to catv or cable but to air/antenna. If no antenna connected to set or if just indoor antenna you may not pickup on auto search--try to direct enter a known channel with the remote--if you get one you can in the set menu manually add to the memory the set has.

I can only get channels 600 through 900 which I have never see before.I cannot get regular channels or cable channels. It is not a flat panel t.v.Q1435A is the model number

Hi -

If you have a cable TV line connected directly to the TV, an antenna or a cable box connected by coaxial cable, I would suggest running the automatic channel scan (AUTO-PROGRAM) again:

1. Press the AV key on the Advent remote control repeatedly until TV is displayed in one corner of the TV screen. If you don't have the Advent remote, use the TV/AV button on the front of the TV.
2. Press the MENU key on the advent remote or the front of the TV to open the on-screen menus.
3. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight PRESET then press VOL+ to select.
4. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight ANTENNA then use the VOL+ key to select either AIR (for antenna) or CABLE.
5. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight AUTO-PROGRAM then press the VOL+ key to start the automatic channel scan.

Once the channel scan is complete, the TV should automatically return to viewing the first channel found during the scan. Do not press the MENU key during the scan or the scan will not complete.

If you are using a cable/satellite receiver and it is connected to the TV by any means other than a coaxial cable, you do not need to run the channel scan. You should simply select the correct AV input using the AV key on the remote or the TV/AV key on the front of the TV (see step 1 above).

If you have done all of the above and you are still unable to get the channels on your TV, please post back for further assistance. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question. Please let me know whether you are using a direct cable line, antenna or cable box, etc.

Regards,
BElectric

We don't have the original remote, but a universal. Channels only go up to channel 13. Is there a way to add channels?

Check that you have selected "cable" instead of "antenna" as a signal source and then autoprogram the set. These features can usually be found through the on screen menu using front panel buttons.
