Question about General Electric PT970 Microwave Oven
Pt970 model - not heating up to requested degree. I set the oven to 450 degrees at exactly 11am. It is now 1:38pm and the oven is only at 296 degrees. Why does it take so long. This is the 2nd time I am using the oven, I thought the first time would take long as it is new, but 2+ hours and still not at 450 is crazy. Can you help me please?
There may be a problem with either the door seal or the thermostat.
The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If it still fails, you can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here in case you don't have yours.
Once you look it over, if you still have a problem, GE Customer Service is here and they should be able to help you check it or send service if you have a problem.
We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
