The heatsink is probably clogged with dust/lint/hair.  You can get an air can and blow it through(temp fix) or have someone take it apart to clean it.

Also check your battery against a sony battery recall list.  Do a google search.

Over heating and heatsink

Unless you are using something like speedfan from www.almico.com it is impossible to tell if something is really too hot. There have been reports of low end laptops that dont have metal frames overheating.

My laptop is geting automatically close after running for long hour

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

I have a Toshiba Satelite A135-S4546. The problem is that has been shuting down within a few minutes after starting without aparent reason. Battery normally last about an hour to hour fifteen minutes.

More than likely the heat sink is covered with lint and the laptop is over heating. You may be able to find a service manual on the Internet that shows the process of opening the laptop up and cleaning off the heat sinks. Some laptops require most of the laptop being disassembled to get to the heat sink so it may be a good idea to bring the laptop to a service center to be serviced.

My HP 3116 TU laptop gets hot after using for few minutes as the exhaust is at the bottom. it may result in the crash of CPU or motherboard pls advice

Laptop heatup is mainly due the clogged heat sink and fan etc, which requires to be cleaned. It is strongly recommended that you clean the heat sink etc yourself or seek help from authorized profession at the earliest to avoid any damages to the PC.

Hope it helps! Do convey your feedback

My daughters Acer 5536 overheats and turns itself off after a couple of hours of non stop use. Is it a fan issue or a common known problem and do you have a fix ? Thx

Remove the fan with heat sink - underneath is the CPU. Remove and re-apply the silicon compound between the CPU and heat sink. After time, the compound becomes dry and the heat absorption deteriorates. The purpose of it is to efficiently transfer the heat to the heat sink radiator to keep it cool - if the CPU reaches the maximum temperature threshold, it will shut down.

If the fan is spinning quite fast then the overheating problem is most likely dust clogging the fan and heat-sink assembly. Blasting air into the fan and heat-sink can only make it worst as you are forcing the dust further into the heat-sink fins.
Remove the panels covering the vent and fan/heat-sink, loosen the dust and vacuum to remove this dust off the fan and heat-sink. Check the fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
After re-assembling and boot up, if you still have heating problems, addition cooling can be employed by purchasing a laptop fan assisted cooling pad. Place the laptop on top of this pad and the fans on the pad will direct additional cooling air to the laptop's vents.
