The headphones will not be covered in the warranty, however they are the cheapest thing to replace. They can be found at any department store or game store for as little as $14.00. In the mean time you can use any cell phone headset that uses a 2.5mm plug.

you need to purchase a lazer disc cleaner it looks and works just like a normal dvd disc but it has brushes on it that when put through the player brushes the dust of the laser lens this needs to be done on a regular bases to keep your lazer working to its optimum level and hense fixing your problem.

Three flashing red lights


3 red lights is the gpu and the cpu overheating if you stop the heat build up getting to the chips it will work for you you can do this at home or you can use a good guide to fix this error.

Warranty clarification for the xbox 360


As I understand it, and I have three 360s to go by here:

1) You have one year manufacturer warranty for any defects, all are covered. Assuming you purchased it at a retailer, purchasing it online I am not sure.

2) You have 3 years from the date of purchase for both the Red Rings of Death and the E74 issues, which essentially are caused by the same faulty processor.

Word of advice though, if you do get any of the errors listed above always call them, do not use the online forms to send it in. I have had two RRoD and one E74 and have always had MS pay for it with shipping and a box, my friends have used the form and have had to pay shipping themselves.

Registering it:
I didn't have to register any of my consoles until I had the major errors, then I registered them over the phone and got a trouble ticket and replacement set up. I know you do not need to register them for xboxlive so I am not sure what are the additional benefits to registering, if any.

My xbox 360 was connected to the internet but now it won't work .test connection and it says not connected. tried another cable still the same. Help?????


Does it say Network Adapter - Disconnected?
You tried another cable and still the same thing? When did you purchase your xbox 360? its a possibility that the ETHERNET PORT on your 360 is faulty. might as well contact xbox support to check warranty status of your 360..

On certian games,spiderman 3 , saints row & others, my xbox 360 freezes,I have it well vent.and a laptop cooling fan under it. Any thoughts?


I have an older 360 that was doing the same thing. It was purchased in 2007. We just bought one for our daughter this past Christmas and hers hasn't done it yet. The newer Xbox 360 is a lot louder than my old one. I just sent my old one in to be serviced due to freeze up, false clean disc comments, and a wobbleing/rattleing noise when disc was starting and stopping. If yours is still covered under warranty I would send it back. I purchased the extended warranty, thankfully, for 2 years after the manuf. warranty. I don't know if you can purchase it after you purchase the Xbox 360 or not. You may want to check into it. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. I got it on both systems, mine and my daughters. The big thing is acting on the problem ASAP after you start noticing it before the warranty runs out!

Concerning the warranty


If you don't have proof of purchase, go to the store you bought it from. I believe it's up to 3 years on an Xbox 360 for the warranty.

Won't honor warranty


Unfortunately, Microsoft has the final say on warranty issues. Speaking as someone who presently works at the customer service desk at one of the major retailers, it's not surprising that the store staff couldn't help you.

It's possible that the unit you have was sold once to someone else, then returned to the store and re-sold to you. If that's the case, Microsoft will say the warranty started the day it was sold the first time (even if the first owner never opened the box), since they get information from the retailer when they scan the serial number on the box at the time of sale. Also, I'm afraid it doesn't matter when the defect occured--what matters is when you call them; so screenshots etc. won't be a help in this case.

Try calling Microsoft again, but ask for a supervisor. Be polite, but insistent. Saying, "I know that your system says my warranty is expired, but I'd like to speak with your supervisor about that," might work. If they try a line like "but my manager will say the same thing," then respond with "I'm sure that might be true, but I'd still like to have him or her say it directly to me." Try to convince them to allow you to fax them a copy of the receipt with the accurate purchase date. If you can convince them that they're wrong, they'll probably make an exception to allow you to return it even though it's now well into December.
