Question about Relisys RLT1720 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

I have sound but no picture

When i turn the tv on i get a picture for about 1 second then the screen goes off. The sound continue no problem. I have tested the VGA input with a laptop and the same happens. The screen shows for about 1 second then goes off.

When this problem first started i could get the picture to come back on if i turned the tv off and on a few times.

Any help much appreciated as this is a great tv / monitor for laptop or games console.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have read through some of the other posts relating to my problem and have performed the shinning torch test. Yes you can just about see the picture when you shine the torch at the screen at an angle.

I am going to take the TV apart and see if I can locate the capacitor/s. Can anybody point me in the right direction.....

    Manny thanks

    Hi Steve,

my RLT1720 is doing the exact same thing! It's weird that it happened at about the same time as yours! It does the same thing in both TV and PC mode so it can't be anything to do with the VGA input. Did you have any luck in locating the capacitors/fixing the monitor? Would be great to hear what you've done or are planning to do.

    John

Looks like a capacitor failure in the circuitory. You may need to take it to a technician and get it checked.

Monitor flickers and goes blank after 5 seconds and keep repeating this very often.

Hello,

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.

I advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to solve the problem of the blank screen.

Take care.

The synchro transistor has died. The only option is to have it repaired. Just had it happen to mine, can't tell you thye cost yet though as I have a loan monitor while dell fix it. Of course they will find more than 1 item i bet. But a tch who works for samsunhg looked at it and told me it would need to have a new sync transistor. Because its dell he wouldnt touch it.

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Video (picture) must be constantly entering a monitor for a monitor to continue to display a picture after it self tests (goes on for a second or, two) Your monitor is fine; check it using another known good computer.
