Re: headphones dont work and purchase 360 console in past...
The mics often tend to break it really doesnt matter how new they are. i think your best bet is to get a wireless mic. although it costs 50 dollars it will be worth your while because they dont break unless abused.

hi i hope this helps Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound ->Sound -> Right Click on Speaker, select Properties -> Under "Jack Information" you'll see a couple of coloured circles; look on the back of your computer to see which one (or more) your headphones are plugged into. Click on Levels -> Increase the value of the colour that your headphones are plugged into to 100 from 0. failing that change your speaker settings to stereo
The chatpad has a very snug fit. Often times it appears that it is plugged in all the way but actually needs to be removed and then pressed on more firmly. I really had to press hard to get it on a few times. If it is not firmly prssed on then the headphones won't properly work.
if your losing sound through your headset then just buy a new headset. if its through your tv then you could have something lodged inside the headphone socket which would cause your tv to think headphones are in
i used to have the same problem with my white controller usally i would just push it in real far and it would work for a little bit but then i tried the headset on a different controller (my red one) and it worked much much better so maybe just try it on a different controller
We got our daughter a Leapster2 for Chrstmas 08. One day the sound just stopped working. Called Leapfrog. They said to insert a cartridge, and turn the unit on. Plug headphones into the headphone jack. Then rotate the headphone plug-in 360 degrees,( It is easier to hold the heaphone plug-in and rotate the leapster2). Unplug the headphones and check to see if the sound works. Leapfrog said try it more than once, and if it does not work contact them,1-800-701-5327. We tried it and Hallelujah it worked!
The headphones will not be covered in the warranty, however they are the cheapest thing to replace. They can be found at any department store or game store for as little as $14.00. In the mean time you can use any cell phone headset that uses a 2.5mm plug.
