I am not sure which question to answer, so I will try both.

raising the handlebars, loosen the stem bolt 4or 5 turns, (this is the bolt on on the top of the handlebar stem). Tap the stem bolt with a hammer, the bold should drop down and the handle bars should fall loose, adjust as needed, then tighten the stem bolt to set.
Please note, there is usually a limit line on the stem, do not raise bars above this level as iy will make the handle bars unsafe and could pull out or break off.

second question, Child seats ar very adaptable, an will fit most bikes. Be sure to use all the necessary hard ware and safety guards. for you and your passenger.
Try to get the seat set up as low as possible as the higher the seat the higher the center of gravity. It will have less effect on handling characteristics if you keep the seat low.

I hope this is of some help.

How do I raise the handle bars on a Schwinn Cruiser Alloy Seven?

There should be an allen wrench fitting on the top of the handlebar stem. Loosen (counterclockwise) so that the bolt head is up at least 1/4". Then tap the allen wrench with a hammer. The stem should come loose so that you can raise it. Be careful not to go above the "Max height" mark that will be engraved on the stem.

I have a schwinn fastback road bike. I want to know how to raise the handle bars?

A major limitation is the steerer tube length. No matter how many times you cut a steerer tube it won't get longer.

Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

A reputable Bicycle Shop would have fit the bike to you before you took it home.

I just purchased a Protocol 1 bike. I need to raise the handle bars. What is the procedure? Thank you for time. Carter McFall

Loosen up the goose neck in the center of the handle bars. There is a bolt there. Directly under that bolt you will see a large nut. Get a pair of channel locks or a crescent wrench and loosen up that nut and you should be able to push up or pull down to loosen the handle bars and change the height. Once you get them where you want them, remember to tighten up the large nut as well as the bolt on the goose neck.

How do you raise the handlebar of a Schwinn Ridge AL 26" bike? I want to add a child carrier and I need to raise the handlebar to make it fit.

The handlebars stem is an Aheadset-style and as such has spacers below it to set its height. Once the steerer tube is cut to fit the combination of stem and spacers there's no going UP, only down. Stems can be replaced with different rises and lengths. Maybe that would help. A Bicycle Shop would have everything you need and the know-how to decide if you can mount the child carrer.

Schwinn Impact MOS.....can the handle bars be raised? If so, do you loosen the small star nut on top, or the large nut at the base of the handle bars?

In order to raise the handle bars, you will need a hex key. Put it into the hex indentation at the top. Turn it left to loosen it. Then raise the handle bars to the desired height.

You loosen the nut that you see where the handlebars enter the front tube on the frame. Pull up a bit after loosening and then be sure to tighten the nut back when you get it where you want it.
