There is normally an option in bios to turn off. Are you sure there is no option? Its normally under onboard controller/etc. When you go into bios try holding CTRL+F1 as for some bios's this enables an advanced menu.

If this does not apply then can you go into device manager and sounds/audio controllers? It should be listed there, generically its ac97 audio, or something like this. Right click, properties, uninstall/remove device.

I hope this helps.

I was installing an ide hdd when i booted the start up said something wasn't in its place...when i shut down the bios get stuck on the bios f12 f9 del page.. is there a solution to this ??? i tried...

Hi, for a start you can download a manual from here:

Try to check the bios again in the boot options.
The first HD has to be set as master and the second as slave.

Does the bios see the HD if not it has a fault.

You can read all about that in the manual.

Hope this will help you.

My ABIT AW8-Max motherboard is showing an error "83", the manual I got of ine does not explain much other than saying "save all data in stack back to CMOS"! I dont really know what i need to do to fix...

Error message: 83h, Save all data in stack back to CMOS. 84h. Initialize ISA PnP boot devices.
First try clearing the cmos jumper on the motherboard. You will need the manual to help guide you. If you no longer have the Abit manual for the AW8-MAX motherboard you can download it by opening the link provided below;
Click on the blue arrow to start the download.
You will also need WinZip to uncompress the zip file.
Download Winzip @ this link;

Than you'll need Adobe reader to view the manual. Download and install Adobe @
Open the manual to page 2-8. Follow the instructions to clear the cmos. (Wait 30 seconds). Reset the cmos jumper back to normal. Boot you're system and press the Delete key on you're keyboard to enter the bios. Turn to page 3-1. Once the bios/cmos has been cleared the cmos resets the bios back to default settings. You will have to change some setting depending what is connected to you're motherboard.
When finished save and exit the bios. The system will auto restart. If you receive the error massage again than you'll need to replace the cmos battery. If after replacing the battery the error message still returns the last option would be to flash the bios/cmos with the latest bios. You'll find the bios file and bios utility/firmware from the Abit link below;

M925 v7.3...Bios problem...ethernet option no available

For the M925G I can find a V8.0 and v9.1b motherboard on the PC Chips web site but not a v7.3. At any rate this manual clearly shows there should be an option to enable or disable the Ethernet port on the BIOS Features Setup Page near the bottom. If the option is not there and I would be more inclined to think that the wrong firmware may have been flashed to your board. You might try downloading and flashing the BIOS update again, making sure the checksums match when the procedure is complete. By the way the link to the manual I?m referring to is here:
